There's a lot of collective wisdom in the above posts, and no, I'm not deluded about being a ski designer (far from it). A skinny GPO seemed like a safe bet, but comments about a BC, Fat Yeti and skinny Rx give me pause.
Agreed that a skinny Q makes little sense (after a few days on the standard width). The asym. seems to work best in softer snow, and given that we're going to ski a ski over a range of conditions (bracketing around its sweet spot), a 108 ski will likely be skied quite a bit in harder conditions ... not so optimal from my experience - at least for someone who's used to pushing the front of their boots.
