Maybe not a looker but made a pretty good jarred salsa. Just eat it all within 72 hours or freeze.

Isn’t that the question posed?

You're not wrong.
Courtney Love? I ain't scared.
I saw her at Lollapalooza 95 when Hole was part of the tour. She wore that same white dress she seemed to always have on during the late 90s and one of her boobs was hanging out the entire set. She was so smashed she didn't seem to care.
Given that single experience, I'm gonna lean more towards the 'scared' side of the scale.
Years ago Teresa's in Pontiac MI set the world botulism record with 56 cases from home canned chiles. The picture on that bottle looks a lot like Teresa.
Sadie's is fucking awesome. Everything about the place... including the packaged salsa. Hands down my favorite place in ABQ for NM food. (Yes I realize I'm starting a war)
That sucks though that the salsa spoiled so fast.
What has a longer shelf life, Courtney Love or that salsa?
Would that matter? I thought jarred was the same as canned as far as could last a year unopened?
In any case, I wrote a polite email to them and they confirmed riser was right. Only lasts 5-7 days once opened.
I wonder if 505 has preservatives. I'm sure I've kept a jar of that around for at least two weeks and no degradation. I eat a lot of salsa but a jar in 5 days is quite a bit...
I'm almost certain there's a jar of salsa in the back of our fridge that would still be edible today after getting it for a Memorial Day cookout. It might be one of those New York City salsas though so hey.
This is correct. It shouldn't matter.
I checked and both have basically the same ingredients, including citric acid, presumably for preservation. Maybe 505 uses *more* citric acid?Quote:

Home - canned tomatoes. From four years ago. Seals appear fine.
Worth it? How bad can botulism be?!
The double entendres in this thread today are off the charts.
Dammit, came back to add "speaking of Courtney Love" to my post.
This doesn't go here, but speaking of the Underhill account. My dad recently, and very uncharacteristically, bought a house at a golf resort. He doesn't golf. It's in the NC mountains and near some awesome shit, so we visit a lot and prodigiously use his account at the clubhouse. We were wrapping up dinner and I returned from the facilities realizing a friend had just sneaked the waiter a credit card. I hustled over to the waiter and before I could say anything, he asked "put it on the Underhill account?". The reaction at our table of high and drunk Gen Xers was, well probably excessive.
How long can a fridge go without power before you have to toss stuff? USDA says 4 hours, but I’m not buying it. House was a comfy 70 degrees today if it matters.
