just finished skiing in st anton. snowed about 20-30cm last night and the rain didn't reach the valley. currently sunny and warm. The snow is really wind hammered and shit is moving all over the place. After triggering 2 small avalanches in one run on mellow terrain we decided that we're better off to call it a day than to keep on skiing.
Knee deep for lots of runs in Verbier today. Guess about 25-30cm overnight last night. Warm in the village, not much down here. Warmed up and snow got a bit heavy but snowing again now. Only downside: it's gaper central here. I've never seen so many people...

Just came off the mountain. Another 10-20cm higher above Verbier, got first tracks down Tortin. 10 turns. :D Then found some waist deep shots. Unfortunately I need to sleep now...

Quick update for you guys. After spending 4 days in the park (can now slide rails - strange!), Les Deux Alpes got nuked on the 30th and 31st. Today (1st) was an excellent day: face shots on Super Diable, big "Ingrid Backstrom"-style lines on the freshies on the glacier.

Thanks for the info so far. You guys mentioned some smaller areas closer to Nice. Doesn't need to be a big resort, we like the smaller areas. Anyone have additional recommendations or know the conditions of these places?

G3 won't open the day after snow, unless it has been open already.
I have no idea when it will open, but this last storm(s) came from the West,
thus it should have piled up in there. Snowline remained below La Combe too.
The storm before came from the North, and that ruined it (my guess).
I've no data on the place and the plans.
Relying on internet like the rest of us for its opening.
Would be happy to learn that Cabane to Reusch is open.
And of course, Scex Rouge to Col du Pillon is always staring at me.:rolleyes2

Only the teleskis on G3 glacier are open; Sunshine...but -13c and winds 40 to 60km/h.
G3 closed early on Monday afternoon due to cold and winds.
After 24 hours of high winds, I imagine all the blower is wind-affected/crusted...
or else, blew off the glacier and fell on Les Diablerets and Villars. :rolleyes:

seven people died in avalanches in the Mt Blanc area this weekend.
(This is only second hand info but it might pay to be careful out there.)
