So I thought I'd join in...

I actually proposed to my now fiance looking out from this point. [/blog]
EDIT: sorry about the photos...I'm working on resizing them to fit a little better.
Came across this bugger on the trail the other day. He wasn't to pleased that I kept sneaking in a little closer for pics. Also, I was relieved to see that my dog doesn't have any interest in rattlesnakes when she hears the rattle go. She heard the rattle, backed up a bit, looked for a bit, and then carried on.
I am learning more about photoshop, and this has had some pp work done on it. Looks a little over processed to me, but looks cool I think.

This is pretty similar to how the original looked, I only have the original in raw.

Hey Fuzz, got Exif data??
30 sub-frames at 2 seconds each, ISO1600. Plus 30 dark sub-frames at same settings. Shot with Canon 40D prime focus on 8" telescope (Celestron NexStar 8SE) -- i.e. no lens on camera, just the camera body attached directly to the scope, essentially turning the telescope into a super telephoto lens. Captured with Nebulosity. Stacked with DeepSkyStacker.
Lonnie and Fuzz
Not a good shot, but the place has potential.
Shot this yesterday on the way out.
Last day for cliff diving.

Thank you!
Lens: Nikkor 18-35 f3.5-4.5 AF-D
Filter: Singh Ray LB Warming Polarizer
This lens rarely leaves my camera these days. Nice and sharp from f8 - f14 and a very useable focal range for landscapes and walking around.
Don't know if you checked in on page 26 of this thread (8/31 & 09/01), but there are more examples of this lens' goodness on those dates. The image posted 08/31 also has a Lee .9 GND filter to bring down the clouds.

Did you shoot this full manual? what were your settings? if not what did you meter off of?

Great shot Truth!
I got gobs of shots from a summer ride. Not all of them of the dark quality but since I started with the post above (think of a curtain being pulled back revealing a stage) I'll put this one out there also. I've cruised through the thread. Many mind blowing shots.
