Tried to get some replacements for janky old rubber & plastic parts as I clean up the old DH bike. $34 for fork bumpers, chainstay protector and pulley wheel hood thing. Seemed pretty cheap until I found out they also want $25 shipping.
Fuck off. This stuff probably weighs 30 grams total and would fit it a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope.
Time. I need more freaking time to ride, dangit. One hour drive to any nearby trailheads doesn't help.

Like I said, I really do not get what you are upset about.
He's complaining because some brand new takeoff parts not declared as such can present fitment issues. Derailleur / dropper cables, chains, forks (steerer tube), etc. All those are different than brand new, never installed OEM parts.

I just had a bike pack a Silky some tools and a pack with yoga stuff and the magwheel lock key taken which isnt much but its > 400$
I had no way to get the wheels off in case of a flat so I had to get my tire guy to extract the locks, he said in the past the police dropped off a bag full of stolen wheel lock keys so the bad guys just steal every thing like what thief would bother to bike stuff, yoga mats & blocks & mag wheels ?
edit: I keep relaizing something else got taken which reminds me I forgot the tire pump !

What Andeh said. A new derailleur comes with a new cable that fits my XL bike. A takeoff from a smaller bike comes with a cut cable that does not fit. Also in this case they ripped the ferrule off to get it off the bike so the end is frayed (not visible in photos) and you'd have to cut it even further shorter to get it back through the housing.Quote:

Also lets just be clear...the word "new" has a meaning. Take offs are great, but they aren't literally new. They've been installed, they've been tested, and in 99% of cases I bet they've actually been ridden (if only around the block to see how the bike feels). Just put the damn words "take off" in the description so everyone knows what is up.

Turns out that USAA does not cover e-bikes of ANY type, regardless of class, category, configuration, registered or not.
Period.
This was certainly never conveyed to us, in any sort of communication, in 23 years.
Fuckers probably have saved millions in payouts with this trick.
Thanks for the reminder that I’ve got to spend some time finding a USAA alternative. Last interactions with them have been awful and took getting the state regulators involved to get what we were owed.
Thanks for the heads up. I just emailed my Farmers agent to check. I've asked before and confirmed that my policies covered my MTBs, but that was before I owned an ebike and even if I did at the time, I don't think I would have made that distinction.
Exactly. We have had this policy since 2001, I don’t ever recall receiving an update outlining this policy, or we would have gotten a rider. It just seems very bait and switch. What’s next? They just arbitrarily say they don’t cover theft in a national forest, or a bike that has been raced?

Do insurance policies I am assuming for your house automagicaly cover bicycles ? I have only ever heard of bike coverage being extra on your house insurance up here and vehical insurance never covers bikes
