What new (to me) wagon do I want?
I currently own a 2014 Audi Allroad, I'm replacing a 2008 Subaru Outback, have owned a 2006 Impreza.

Looking for a AWD wagon. $15-25K.
I want another Audi Allroad, but used inventory is minimal in Colorado. All the good options are at sketchy small auto sales yards in Denver (1 star, 2 star ratings). AM I right to not buy from one of these yards?
What other wagons should I be looking at.

Needs:
AWD, wagon, enough power for Colorado high altitude and mountain passes, able to mount a 2" trailer hitch, ability to mount cross bars is a bonus but not deal breaker.

You're about 3 days late for the nice 2010 Volvo XC70 on BAT. Clean as fuck with a 300hp 6 cylinder engine, awd and only 32k miles on it. If it had black instead of beige leather, I would of bid on it.

Golf Wagon/Alltrack would be up your alley, especially since you're comfortable owning a ten year old Audi.

Was thinking Alltrack but curious what DH wants to tow? Are we talking utility trailer or full on Digital Death mother sort of payload?

4 slot bike rack. No trailer, DD’s mom comes to my place (and leaves) on her own.

I run a 2-bike RockyMounts on a 2” receiver I installed on our Alltrack. A 4-bike rack wouldn’t be totally ideal off pavement, but the clearance should be about the same as your Allroad

……. Or shift your attention to the small SUV variety of wagenz. For the Audi/BMW/Volvo lines I’d guess your used inventories are 100:1 SUV vs Wagon. And a couple more inches of ass dragging clearance for the NorthShore/1Up.
I might suggest Toyota/Honda/Lexus/Acura, but I think they’re going to leave you wishing for more HP chugging uphill while loaded down in the Rockies. We traded the Outback for the XC60 because of that. Box+Bikes+Dogs+Speed was quickly killing the anemic Outback.

Yes you are correct, buying from an independent dealer without much of knowledge of where car came from and what its service history is is playing Russian roulette , don’t want to be there .
Thats my opinion.

Know they’re rare but don’t chase price - chase tangible service history and ownership.

How about the Mercedes E53 wagon?

I can afford the AMG shift knob.

Dee and any other B 8.5 Allroad owners, I realized that I have a spare refurbished wheel (just like the ones in Dee’s pic) in my garage that I didn’t send with mine when I sold it.

Free to the Mag that wants it - just got to cover shipping from ATL.

Low miles = car no worky for very long time

Fawking Subaru's. My wife found a local Subaru, from somebody we know, an older single gentleman, who's buys a new one every 5 years.
It's immaculate, with new (4000k) winters and never installed summers, a new windshield, 2" factory hitch, weather tech mats, PPF on hood/bumper, tint to match the factory rear windows, it goes on....
And then he pulled out a hand written list, on lined paper, of 5 years of every oil change, every tire rotation, and all of the dealer service records in chronological order,
It's a fawking Subaru, ugly color, opposite of sexy, and yet the smart thing to do.....

Actually they are easy. So is pulling the engine. I was shocked to find out on many cars the front bumper is not removable as it's welded on.

Those belts look fine btw.

Are those fenders stock?
