Quick question for Di2 experts. Can I take the wireless connector thing off of one bike and temporarily connect it to another so I can program the shifter buttons with the app? My understanding is that the battery is the brain, so it would retain settings. I'd just try it out but I have to unwrap a bar to get to it so don't want to bother if it's hopeless.

Yes the EW-WU111, EW-WU101 or SC-MT800 bluetooth transmitter can be swapped between bikes.
Make sure its firmware is updated on the bluetooth transmitter before you remove it.
You are correct the that the brain is in the battery, the older battery did not support the bluetooth connecter, you need a BT-DN110 or newer battery for the bluetooth to work.
I have 2 bikes with older batteries (pre 2016) that I cannot update with the bluetooth app.

I do put my ass on my seat on occasion when riding downhill and I sure as fuck get an angry lower back whenever I grind my way up a dirt road for 2+ hours (which happens not infrequently). I could see this thing being nice to have for a variety of reasons, and if it sucks it's something I'd leave on the bike and forget about. $250 ain't cheap but comparing price-to-benefit ratio against something like a high flow presta valve, the other latest and greatest innovation in MTBing, I don't find this thing to be far off the mark.
Tilting it down 10* for a steep climb? That seems like it would be almost unbearable on my ass after just a few pedal strokes.

I don't mean to complicate your decision making process, but if you're interested, for only $100 I'd be willing to bolt a 1/4 pound of weight to your bike that you can leave on there and forget about. For an extra $50, I'll even come up with a technical sounding reason why that dead weight is absolutely necessary for proper enduro-ing.Quote:

It’s like a rolling way-back machine.
I’d way rather have your $100 weight than move my seat nose. At this point I’ll bet the majority of people in this thread can tell if their saddle is off 2mm in any direction within 30 seconds of jumping on their bike. It would drive me fucking nuts to have it moving around.Quote:
