3 month rental for Shohei with next to no shot of giving him a $650MM contract when this year is over; you do it if it’s your team?
Give A’s at least one good starter, pitcher or fielder, and a top prospect.

My guess is no one pulls the trigger without being able to negotiate a deal going beyond the end of the year.
I would hate it if he goes to the Yankees and I have to start hating him.
He’ll somehow end up in the Padres probably.
Padres is what I'm thinking as well. Also, there's so much stronger of a Japanese presence on the west coast just given the geographic location that I would have a hard time seeing him want to stray too far from that connection. Not that there aren't big Japanese markets all over but I don't see a whole lot of Japanese adverts on the outfield wall outside those western division teams.
I really hope not. Not because I don't like your team, but because I don't think its good for baseball to have this tier of a few unlimited spending capacity teams that can afford an Ohtani and then the rest of the league below that trying to catch lighting in a bottle to compete.
Regardless of who attempts to buy a WS ring that was a fun set of games in Cleveland. Maybe see you again in October.
We’d be lucky to do so!
As outlined in great detail by future Hall of Famer announcer Tom Hamilton during tonight’s game, this Bravos team is exactly like the 1995 Indians (yes, Better than the 95 Braves that beat those Indians). They beat the absolute cover off the ball from 1-9 and don’t stop.
Fun team, fun series. Braves are the class of baseball right now in my opinion.
The 90s Braves, the team that accomplished the least with the most…except maybe the recent Dodgers
Andrew Friedman playing a little 3D chess by having Japanese Heritage Night while Shohei is in town.
Question for Padres fans: I’m gonna take the 11 year old to Petco for the Dodgers series in August, where are the best bang for your buck seats? At Dodgers Stadium I’m a big fan of the first few rows in the loge, because you have great views of the entire field and the rows are steep enough that kids can see over the people in front.
Bunch of cool old cards in an exhibit at the Met in NYC.

Just listened to a really great interview of Ron Washington by the Guards on field reporter Andre Knott from their trip this weekend. I could listen to Ron talk baseball all day; what an interesting guy.
Red Sox have everybody right where they want them. They're hunting from behind, like tigers.
* I was gonna write "pumas" but pumas hunt from behind and above.
Oh for sure. Bravos are stacked on and off the field. It’s going to be impressive to watch them in the second half. I think they are on track to hit 300 home runs this year. Fucking nuts!
Lol.
I’ve got a Tigers fan in my office and every time I want to feel better about my team I wander down to his office and ask how the Motor City Kitties are doing.
Lets go Mets!!
Also...
Dodgers will now have at least three players with 20+ home runs entering the All-Star break:
Mookie Betts - 23
J.D. Martinez - 20
Max Muncy - 20
we will see, statistically there is no way they can keep up this pace.
Lol.
I never could forgive Detroit for beating the Cardinals in the 68 WS.:fm: McClain and Lolich were great pitchers.Quote:

Woodsy,
That’s nuts. Doyers-Bravos right now for NLCS.
Bunion, as a kid my family moved to Ann Arbor when the Kitties won the ‘84 title. I wore Tribe gear when my school had an “out of uniform” day to mark the occasion.
In unrelated news, Josey Ramírez is such a fucking treasure. Dude jacks long balls and makes crazy glove plays left and right, all in relative obscurity and taking a $100MM hometown discount. Build his statue now, Dolans.
Some amazing young talent this season. MLB is exciting again.
