In another episode of “TGR Influences Everything” I turn on the tv to find the ncaa championship and it’s on the National Geographic Channel. What’s on? Oh just Rob Lowe narrating a show called “90’s; the last great decade”.
So much truth in this. I’d tell my parents I was going somewhere but they had zero way of really knowing where it was I actually went. My buddies and I went to a Dead show when we were 15, totally unsupervised. Granted my parents had taken us to the Eugene show the year before and let us run wild. Think any Parents would allow that anymore. Skating burnside until sunrise after the wu tang and Rage show because we were way too fucked up to drive to the coast. We used to hitch hike from the Oregon coast to Mt Hood before we could drive. Some of my buddies lived so far from school they got drivers licenses at 15 because the bus didn’t come by their house (no way that loop hole still exists). 2 story high bonfires on the beach with psychedelic mushrooms growing in the sand dunes and Hamms flowing like water. If cell phones had existed (more accurately been in use) none of those good times would’ve happened and we would’ve had the proverbial electronic leash holding us down.

all about who you invite and where things are placed, like always.
We had an 18 hole disk golf course, two tree houses, and a whole picnic setup including 10 foot partially buried bong within 5 minutes of HS in a well populated area. It was busted in the third winter because the neighbors finally saw one of the tree houses when the leaves fell. The key was not as prevalent social media even though we all had cell phones with cameras.

Went to a rave in San Francisco when I was 17 and lived in East Bay. Ate acid at 11, drove home across the Bay Bridge while peaking. The 90minute drive took 5 hours.
Walked in the front door after sunrise. My dad asked if I had been drinking, I said no. He gave me a hug and I went to bed.
Life before cell phones was dope. And batshit crazy.

Is it possible that he switched locations and is talking about SLC?
It was weirder than normal on this last trip driving around the Front Range. KBCO, KGNU, and KRFC are all playing the same stuff from the '90's, just a steady stream of music to listen to while on Amebian. The only R&B station in Denver was all basic white girl dance music, the bar scene is even worse why the fuck hasn't everyone moved on from the allmanphishdead sound? I mean I grew up on that shit and can appreciate it but the drugs were better and I had more patience.
I mean people complained about jam bands in the 90's but fuck we are several decades deep now give it a rest. The bluegrass bands can fuck off as well, take a bath and get a drummer already Jethro.
Just saying, very little bluegrass and jam bands on KJAC, why the fuck are you listening to those other stations.
Because that's what I listened to in the 90's and receivable on the radio when driving up and down Coal Creek and Boulder Canyon.
It's ok I always have Wu Tang on the Zune as back up.
In 2007 I was in the Denver area for work, and some station was interviewing and playing Helmet. That was pretty cool. Music to listen to wilist driving in Denver.
Yep, Danno is correct, i didn't realize we were talking about PDX. The temple is in SLC, therefore, it is the center of the universe.
Above the aves in SLC there is open foothill space. We used to have keggers up there all the time, and if there got to be too many people, we'd tell our friends quietly, then bust out the sheriff jacket (different story from bear lake) and a mag light, and yell "police!" Everyone would scatter, we'd move the keg, and continue partying.
Good times.
