Conditions were yesterdays 5-10cm un-groomed and by the time I switched to the Kendos it was soft and rough groomes.
Mounted with Pivots at the rearmost line - like I have my 102s.
Disclaimer: early season, first day of proper skiing, and spent the first couple of hours on my Rustler 11s.
The good; excellent edgehold, but the snow was soft so that's not saying much, tail could really be loaded up with a lot of energy and like the Mantra you could easily adjust turn sizes with pressure and/or edge angles. Floated better than for example the Enforcer 88s I had a few years back.
The bad (?): I felt strangely disconnected from the front of the ski. I had to work more consciously to engage the front of the ski than I have to on the Mantra 102. It wasn't a problem in any way, but left me a bit unsure how they will work out as a dedicated hard pack ski
The obvious reason is lack of driver input early in the season, combined with them being a fair bit lighter than the Mantras and being knocked around a bit. But the Rustlers felt just fine, and until I put the Kendos on I felt pretty good for a first day of the season.
The Kendos hand flex a lot softer than the Mantras, so that might also have something to do with this. And the tails felt a bit short, but that was probably also contributing to how easy it was to flex them.
Anyhow; will put a few more days on them, and according to the forecast I'll have them on ice soon enough. Considering mounting them a cm forward, but would like to hear other opinions
