I agree with this 100%. In a completely different vein, getting back into lifting helped me rehab a chronic injury I had been dealing with for 5+ years. This was 7 years ago and if I slack off on weights, I notice it in my injured leg.
If you don't have a background lifting weights I'd recommend trying to find some type of professional that will help you learn the basics. I don't live in a big city and I can think of 3 different places off the top of my head that will teach you the basics of squats, deadlifts, bench press, etc. (for a fee of course)
Good point, but even then I'll have the rest of eternity, a few years on earth can't hurt.
