Also, congrats on the new whip Ice. I like the open bow. Not everyone cruising around is crushing 12’ seas to get to the fish, but in reality just want some more seating instead of an already quasi useless cuddy.

The purpose for those huge engine long mid hulls is to get to the goods faster than others. They are popular in serious big game fishing tourneys.
That is what I have been told at least, and I have seen quite a few at the Los Suenos and Quepos marinas. Otherwise, I have seen them only in Miami, Coral Gables and Islamorada

They are all over here as well, but to get into 100+ ft of water we need to go out 50+ miles each way.
The middle grounds is 110 miles or so. Deepest part of the Gulf, I think. Deepest near here at least.

Almost everything works. The boat came with tons of relevant tools/parts/gear as well. Not a bad camping platform for 3-4 trips a year down there.
We had a ton of help from "Ticaboo Dan" https://ticabooservice.com/ and his partner Tucker. They are very well versed in diagnosing/fixing old decrepit LP houseboats.
