I did a hotshot for a driller so he loaded up a brand new 3500 chev duromax with 3000lbs of drill gear and gave me the key. Even loaded the ride & power and power was amazing until they unloaded it in ft mac AND I realized it rode like a truck, a nice truck tho
RoadActive suspension is my secret for making a 3/4 ton (non-RAM leaf spring) truck an acceptable unloaded daily driver. Probably would be a lot more subtle on an unloaded 1 ton truck.
That's another part that I love about my RAM. And will miss dearly.
The Power Wagon package includes a soft offroad-ish coil spring suspension that rides amazingly well.
If you use the truck unloaded it’s definitely worth adding RAS to the rear leaves of the Silvy. Can install yourself if you are handy.Quote:

I've had issues with my 2022 Zeb Ultimate since I got it- always felt way too stiff off the top- tried tons of combinations of pressures and tokens. Finally had the damper redone and asked the local shop (which has a good reputation) to do a full damper/spring level 2 service- didn't solve anything, and they told me the bushings felt fine to them.
I installed the Buttercups air spring today to try to utilize the larger negative air spring and see if I could soften up the beginning of the stroke- pulling the lowers off took effort all the way down, the lowers won't move at all on their own, and there's visible stanchion wear where the bushings have rubbed the anodizing off. First ride on the larger negative spring felt good for the first two runs, and then deteriorated back to what it felt like before. Anecdotal reports on PinkBike say that this is indicative of bushing issues- feeling great for a short while after a lower service and then going back to normal shortly.
To top it off- the old air spring (which the local shop said they serviced) had a massive gob of grease in the negative chamber- probably 10cc's at least worth.
Swapping this thing out for the Fox 38 I got last fall and sending it in to Shock Howse to do a full bushing run and custom valving.
Seems like a good time to bring this up again… absolutely fucking horrible WC coverage of UCI events. I get that FloSports had the highest bid to broadcast the World Championships this weekend, but fuuuuck. Their coverage sucks, and has sucked in the past, and it stunts any possible growth in the sport or bringing on new fans. You’d think they would make the World Championships the crown jewel of the broadcast and try to get as many eyes as possible on the event. WTF.

I’ve been fighting a battle against the e-bros at my local hill over a switchback they keep cutting so they can save 15 feet and go up an old road instead of just riding the trail. Every time I ride it, I put a bunch of branches back over the switchback, and every time I’m back, they’re gone and there’s tire marks, and this is a spot steep enough that it’s definitely eebs riding uphillQuote:

Have somehow managed to break two lower derailleur pulleys recently. first time must have been a little rock in there, which also broke the chain (one inner link plate which i didn't even notice until the next day). 2nd time, much bigger rock i think, but chain seems fine. Also was able to still ride the bike out of the woods.

First time i put in gx stuff because we had it. this time they were out of stock and i ordered the original xx1/x01 parts. Guess what retail is for a set- 81 fuckin dollars.
Quite often the motor hits but it sound like there shouldn't be any mtn bikes on those trails at all if they are that sensitive
around here its the stravassholes on acoustic bike who cut the trails and move stuff, why would an E-bikers bother with strava when they can beat all the acoustic bikes ?

And pedal strikes on rocks is an odd gripe? Idk how long you've been riding, but when we had 3 rings up front the big one became the bash guard. Rocks back then were hammered looking. They've recovered in time.
It is a pipe dream, but all ebikers should have to ride a regular MTN bike for...ahhh...three years? before they can buy an ebike? [emoji23]
OK. For me the eBike thing is that I haven’t met one that is part of the community. If I meet a struggling mountain biker on the trail, like they have a mechanical or some difficulty, I would always talk/help out, say hi etc. The folks I see on e-bikes are just zooming by, not smiling, or saying hi. It’s just odd. I think the same thing about people that are like that on (analog), bikes, it’s just really rare.
