It was a knee injury, not slide related.
And, completely agree with you on last week's skiing

Nice last couple of days.

The Ghee was an absolute BLAST yesterday! I was in mid-thigh deep goodness the first half of the day, and it was DELICIOUS! Monday was a bit more sporty though - blind all day, all braille skiing. Colter was particularly anxiety inducing - I hadn't skied that terrain before, and visibility was pretty much zero until you got to the bottom quarter.
The Ghee has given me the two deepest days of my life. Love that place!
Went to Kelly Canyon today on the Indy Pass. It was fast and firm, and the soft looking stuff was dust on crust. But...I had the place pretty much to myself. No complaints! First time there, and it wasn't disappointing. Good "break" after the Thighmaster session at GT yesterday!
Skiing in the Tetons really makes me not miss the Big Sky shitshow...
Sleeper day yesterday. More than reported. No crowds Fun.
Things have aligned for me and I'm headed north on a proper storm chase for the next week or so. Leaving for Jackson this afternoon, planning to ski the Village tomorrow and Saturday then headed to SLC for a few days skiing in LCC. Hope to maybe ski some of yous while I'm around.
Also looking at a storm chase w Mini (not so mini now at 15 and Fast!) Comish. Since slalom races were cancelled in Tahoe due to Snowmagedon, might fly into JAC Friday night.
What is the Maggot forecast? Worth it to be there Sat-Tues? Will planes land on Friday?

The skiing is going to get better as the weekend progresses.
Not sure about flights since it sounds like it’s going to be windy but I bet there’s a good chance you get in without snafu
I’ll be out skiing the village tomorrow and the next few days. Bluish purple pants and green jacket and hojis.
The pass is going to close Saturday morning at 2am and I don't have a great feeling about it being a super short closure. High wind and heavy snow is a tough combination for keeping a mountain pass roadway open.

I'm needing to drive out of the hole Saturday morning. Any opinions on if snake river canyon likely to close too?

Thanks for the color. Don't know what I'll do!

No question it will be worth it if you are here.
Question is, if the pass is closed, what time will the village be able to spin the lifts ? Large # of workers commute over.
Be looking for ya.
Cool pic. Love the perspective shots.
Cancelled plans, not gonna risk it tomorrow

I’ll be at the Village the next 4-5 days. Blue helmet and jacket, bright yellow pants. Change for a nickel sticker on helmet. Say hey.
Skiing the Village today and tomorrow. Red jacket, orange pants, solid pink Heritage Lab skis.
[emoji1696] Landing today, at village Sat. - Tuesday. No BC gear as only packed for kid slalom races in Tahoe.
White Prior Overlord skis, blue Sweet Protection helmet w Mammoth and St. Anton stickers. Will definitely be changing nickels on Monday and Tuesday.
Be there this weekend as well w friends who are putting me up.

The Ghee skied well in the afternoon, stick o'truth is already at 10" for Saturday
B&W felt fitting given the storm vibes today.
12" overnight + another 9" by the time this frame was captured. Skied a bit less deep due to solid wind-grooming — not a track in sight.

Sad news from the Village today. :(
the skiing was great today.
Didn’t see any of the visiting mags but hope you all enjoyed the exquisite day and days to follow.
It will be interesting to see how tomorrow pans out with openings.

I'm older...but cash and distance kinda screw things up for me... ;)
We ended up bugging out yesterday afternoon, as the storm they were forecasting sounded like a showstopper for us getting out of Idaho. Bozeman ended up getting the brunt of it, but sounds like GT is still in play over the next couple days. Had a pretty good drive except for a stretch going into Ennis - glazed ice, and a semi stalled, but we made it to Billing around midnight, and got back home about 11:00 tonight. LOTS of windshield time...and temps over 70 in parts of South Dakota.
GT delivered though - as it always has! Love the place.
5 am deepness update. Finally snow at the base.
Today is going to be siiiiickkk
And crowded.

Teton County Sheriff / FB and the Ghee are all posting.
Rumor is the 2 plows both went off the road up there and they’re trying to get bigger equipment on scene
Stoked those visiting are getting the goods.
Any ID on the fatality? Hoping not someone I know...
Kelly Krause. Trees between hobacks and rendezvous trail
Name in this article so I feel ok to post it

Thanks. Not an acquaintance but sad nonetheless.
I hope some mag holds down my position in tram line for first box.
I probably have about 2 feet of new at my house, and the plow just put a 4 foot berm in front of my driveway so I may be moving snow for a bit.

Anyone that has been to the Virg for breakfast or lunch would recognize Kelly. Super good guy. Didn’t know him outside of small talk with my fellas lunch group but I know he will be missed.
His family must be crushed. RIP Kelly.
