A Hozer here. Been lurking for a while but enjoy the blunt reviews given on most subjects. This site is damn near addictive!
Hey guys,
Just joined this forum. I'm a 20 year old college student studying physics in PA. I've been snowboarding for ~14 years. Mostly I'm into all mountain freeriding stuff, so I love going out west. However my friend is an avid park guy and has been getting me into some more park stuff in the past year or so. Right now I ride a k2 zeppelin. Other than snowboarding I play guitar and piano, scuba dive (I'm hoping to get my rescue diver certification this winter) and generally love the outdoors.
Matt
finally taking the plunge - although who knows how much I'll post once I actually start riding in about a month.
As you can see by my join date, I've been here awhile, but was banished to the world of parenting small kids & living near NYC in New Jersey - where skiing goes to die.
I'm lucky enough to live and ski out in AK now, getting into short backcountry stuff this year & looking forward to getting the oldest little one out and ripping around - so that some day, he too can post on here and skip the jong'ing around.
Hey All,
Planning on skiing the village this season, need to pick up some more alpine gear and slim back on my touring gear. Looking to trade some great gear, and stoked for the knowledge shared. Will post some gear once I get permission from admin. Very nice site, wish I would have taken the time to join years ago. cheers
never posted in this thread before, and now i have
oh and i'm the best skier here bitches.
Finally joined. Skiing in summit co this year and skiied copper/wp last year. praying for more la nina.
I can't believe some of you are pro's...
I'm so much better than you are.
I've done this before but lost my username and password. I've lurked and posted a little over the last three years. I spent the previous four years to that down in the tropics and not skiing at all but focusing on whitewater paddling. Before moving to Central America I lived in and around the mountains of Colorado for about four years learning to ski and eventually ski patrolling at one of the big corporate hills in the corridor. Spent season before last in Breckenridge, last year in central Idaho, and now am on top of the world in Lake County. Still guide whitewater trips in the summer and this season will be making a return to snowmo guiding. My biggest focus lately has been in more mountaineering style routes, and I'll be transitioning into AT gear this season after only tele-ing previously. I've been stoked on the info., video, stills, reviews, and general vibe around TGR for quite a while (I've been active in a few internet forums for years) and am pleased to step it up and contribute more this season. cheers to the mags that take the time to read the intros !
I have been here before but on an old name. Anyone know how to delete the old account? In the Rockies and glad to be back.
I've been lurking about for awhile and thought I'd join in. I live on the coast in Santa Cruz, but make it up to Kirkwood regularly. I usually get a pass there, but have opted for the "triple threat" this year. This means I'll get to hit up Alpine and Homewood more this winter.
I'm looking for rideshares and backcountry partners. Definitely going to get my Avy I this year.
Sup Maggots?
I grew up taking ski vacations but this will only be my second real ski season.
I'm from (you guessed it) North Carolina, but I live in Park City now. I like the band Widespread Panic.
I'm an advanced skier, but I'll be the first to admit I'm still learning. I love to ski powder. I get high from skiing as fast as I possibly can too. I'd like to get some park skis and get comfortable in the air this season cause that looks like fun as well.
I'm kind of a hippie at heart and think that all the aspects of BC touring are really appealing, but my budget doesn't have room for all the gear it takes. So right now I'm just learning as much as I can about this awesome sport and skiing resort inbounds and sidecountry.
I like to have fun on skis. I don't take myself too seriously. You can find me at the Canyons most of the time, PCMR, Deer Valley, Alta, and Snowbird once or twice a month. This season I hope to hit up some other Utah mountains including PowMow and Snowbasin. I'd also like to ski Grand Targhee, Jackson Hole, and will probably make a trip to Steamboat Springs.
Hit me up if you want to ski. Otherwise, I'll see you here on the boards
Whats up fellas,
I've been skiing/snowboarding since I was 3 and am now 24. I'm from CT and spent most of my rime riding in VT. I'm now living in NJ but may be moving to Dublin, CA soon and getting the Kirkwood pass if I do.
Esses, I'm definitely down for some rideshares etc. this winter if I make the move out. I'm flying out for an interview this weekend so we'll see how it all shakes out!
Hi,
I've been a ski evangelist for 43 years. I skied 22 years at Mont-Ste-Anne (Quebec), and now in Montreal Laurentians area. I've never been to a beach/sun/south destination in winter, but always on ski trips all over North-America and Europe. My skier wife and I now travel with our 9 and 10 yo boys, when they're not competing with their Intro/K1 program team.
If you want any informations on East Canada destinations, feel free to ask, I may be there to guide you...
I ski my old Rossis B1 (I love em), race on Atomic GSs, moguls on Harts, and play with K2 Revivals.
Sup bros.
Toronto Ontario. 24 years old. This will be my first winter traveling North America skiing. Used to hit up VT because I went to school in CT.
Been creeping the board for a while. Figure I'll jump in on occasion. Current set up is unknown. Looking for the perfect gear for my travels.
your spam sucks fucking donkey dick
Hi.
I'm just getting into skiing- last year was my first full season. I learned fast and hitting some good powder though. I'm always looking for someone to improve with though- especially girls. It looks like I'm one of the few girls on here. I am getting a ski lease in South Lake Tahoe for the winter. My pass is at Heavenly but would be interested in ride shares to save on gas. I'm coming from the North Bay and will most likely be going up Thursday nights and coming by Monday mornings.
Hey all, everybody ready shred some snow

Greetings. Please help me connect with the magnets for more ski fun. I have heard tale of the "Crazy Horse" at Great Targea in the Tetons. Thank you and praise Jesus our lord creator.
hey bqb, thanks for the link. im not a boarding, two planks only for this guy. so far i have planned a trip to MRG, Jay, Big Sky, Jackson, and hoping for some backcountry in silverton. where do you ski out west? if i get some good footage ill send it your way. jus picked up some new pow boards so looking forward to hucking some stuff.
anyone planning on going to Sky/J-Hole? going to be there for a while if anyone wants to share some turns
I've been lurking for a while and drooling over everybody's patch skiing, backcountry, ski mountaineering, and whatever other awesome stuff that I dream of doing. Thought I'd register for this season.
I'm an average skier, I think. Haven't been able to make it up in a few seasons so we'll see this year. I've never been off-piste aside from a little bit between the runs. I'm comfortable on most in-bounds terrain at the Socal resorts where I grew up. Tahoe would be my local area, but I haven't been on snow since moving out of LA three years ago, so this will be my first season there. I just bought a Sugar Bowl pass - I know it's one of the lamer Tahoe areas, but the free rental thing the do is helpful to me because I can't really afford a set of skis this season. Some day I really want to get into the whole off-piste thing but I'm certainly not ready for it at this point.
My "day job", if you can call it one, is as a motorsports photographer. Since most series don't run in the winter, this gives me lots of time, but not much money, to get up and ski. It also gives me a decent amount of expertise when it comes to photography stuff, so you'll probably see me around the photo/video section. I'd like to start shooting skiing, but I need to improve my ski technique before I really feel safe taking all my gear up the hill.
Anyway, I'm mostly gonna stay quiet and lurk, but maybe I'll see some of you guys around.
Whats up!! Finally registered to this site now that i have a job with a computer instead of being outside pounding nails. Live in So. Tahoe for 10 plus years and rip around Kirkwood and Heavenly. Just wanna say hi.
Winter is on its way in BC... http://images.drivebc.ca/bchighwayca...l/dbc/182.html
Here's a link to the duffy weather station, more localized weather info than the various weather and alpine forecasts out there: http://prd.images.drivebc.ca/bchighw...her/26224.html
There's nothing to me like summiting a mtn in the BC and skiing off the top.
Here's to another year of getting our jollies.
Have been plowing around on this site since I discovered it, sometime maybe in '02 or '03? I think I had an account on the site back then, but have never been a forum poster before and it is long since forgotten. Anyway, I have no idea why, but tonight I created an account and am posting. Just waiting for the snow to fly I guess...!
Hey great send all videos to the site. Some of my good friends are in NY, they got stranded for an extra day of boarding. The whole story will be posted on the site, she (Holly) said she got a ton of shots and videos. Their will be a story on http://thebqb.com about the snow storm as well.
Send your stories or videos or even images if you want.

What's up.
Can't wait for ski season here in the NW. Been skiing since I was 5, grew up skiing Mammoth. Since moving to Seatlle, been getting a pass to Alpental the last 10 or so years.
Just picked up some Bent Chetlers, can't wait to charge them, Going to Whistler in Dec. Breckenridge in Feb.
New guy here... living in the Front Range, extended weekends in Summit. Hoping to add something to this place...
New to this forum I have used it for reference in the past but never joined. I am originally from North east pa. I am on my second winter in Vail and I am pumped for another awesome season. I don't want to leave these mountains again. See ya around.
spent a lot of time on epic ski, but decided i like the dark background of this forum better. First winter in CO, grew up in MI, looking forward to some real snow.
Been lurking and learning for a while but only just joined. Chipping away at a PhD and getting a few sanity-restoring tele days a week at Squalpine. No nekkid pics to contribute yet but I tried to start the stoke with some nice shots of my dogs... Looking forward to contributing and learning more.
long time fan of the site. went to sea for 6 months with limited to no internet and forgot my username and password... inexcusable i know haha. well iam back. worked in colter bay for 4 months back in college and fell in love the area. ny based so i ski anything vt can throw at me but i make a trip out west once a winter. need my pow days.
Found this site a few months ago during my research for a back country setup. I live in BTV and have been skiing primarily at Sugarbush the past few years. Looking forward to more back country this year. Thanks for all the info archived on this site. I was able to get all of the information that I was looking for by using search and not having to expose my Jongness!
I've been lurking for a while and it's about time to join. Snowdeprived in Oslo and that sucks. Been skiing since I could walk, mainly in Norway. Mostly on duo-sticks, but also tele, xc and Mono ( yeah, I know ). Work with skis on my feet. Like the humour and have enjoyed reading many TRs. Found some good information here after a little sifting.
40 yr old kansas skier here. Joined because moving west soon and wanted to meet some like minded people. House is for sale and trying to open a restaurant in the denver/boulder area. Have an epic pass but enjoy riding everywhere. My favorite sport is chiefing and skiing. Preferably at the same time. I'm good for a ride anytime i'm around, coming out for opening weekend at vail. Coming out at least once a month for rest of season.
