Pit Viper P15 would be cool too.

These and swap brakes!
I’m not a fan either. Some white STH 16s would look great

Anyone skied the Solis in medium pitch (30-40degree) variable/breakable crusts? How easy is it to break the tails loose in semi-breakable crusts?
Living near Mt. Hood, I’m usually skiing some sort of crust in the alpine, until corn season. With the El Niño, I’m anticipating less mid elevation pow than we’ve been blessed with the previous few seasons. Hoping the Solis holds an edge but stays a little less locked in when skiing shitty snow than my Camox Freebird. Any experience/feedback welcome.
I haven't experienced variable crusts yet on my Solis but have been in a variety of conditions on east coast runs (semi-steep), and at least for my Solis, they are surprisingly easy to pivot and turn. Maybe due to the lack of camber on mine, when base to base, it looks virtually flat. I'm also skiing with alpine bindings so maybe putting in more power to initiate turns than otherwise would with tech bindings, so that could be creating the "easy to turn" effect too.
Thanks! East coast is probably a good analogue for the Mt. Hood mank we get on bad snow years. I think they’ll be a killer ski for the steep lines off the summit of Hood, but it was hard to justify a ski for the 4-5 days a season I’m skiing those lines.
In any event, I pulled the trigger on a pair from Sierra.
Eying an Atris Birdie as a new wife ski, '21-22 vintage. Any meaningful updates over the last 2 years?
Ah you snagged that $399 deal. Good catch! I already have the original black topsheet 173s for spring/steep purposes but was still eyeing those on STP haha. I use the 180s for general resort shredding which has been awesome so far. Perfect stiffness/shape for east coast runs as well as great float/stability for bigger days out west.
Btw, general PSA, Bob's has a good deal for the 2024 model in 180: https://www.bobleisure.com/black-cro...-3662481071947

22-23 saw a pretty noticeable redesign. 21-22 was the last year of the 2017-2022 design that was more or less the same.
FWIW, my wife loved the 2016 Atris Birdie, didn’t like the 21-22, but likes the 22-23 she now has. I think 21-22 we got her may have been a lemon; plenty of other people love that version. I ski it everyday.

That is a fairly common ski/binding combination. The Pivot and the Corvus work really well together.
