I’ve been close to pulling the trigger on an Eurovan Westy. Someone here should convince me not to. I owned a Vanagon Westy for nearly 20 years so I should know better.
Can you throw a subie or a porche engine in it? If so, then do it. I was thinking about this thread recently when I rolled by "Bus Camp" at BM. I've met and seen them before, but the spectacle of seeing almost 60-70 completely varied buses camped together made me tear up.
Eurovan has a front engine and it’s a V6. It’s actually a really solid engine. I have no idea why or how you’d change to horizontally opposed four cylinder designed for rear engine/rear wheel drive

The issues with a rear engine Vanagon and a front engine Eurovan are totally different. No longer does the EV have 75’ of coolant line, an aluminum head sitting on an iron block, etc. If the EV is in good condition and is priced well, Inwouldnt let the issues with a vanagon hold you back.
Wish I had never given my wife the Eurovan in the divorce. Great vehicle in snow with winter tires. Ride was great, I think I usually go around 25 mpg. I’m 6’5” and with the middle row of seats removed I could throw down a pad and sleep on the floor. Great for lunch in the lot and great for changing before hitting the slopes.

Classic scene that’s all too common.

It gets better mileage that way.
