I broke open my bottle of Barterhouse on the 4th and I have to say I was disappointed at my first go around with this stuff. Like I've said before , I'm no expert taster, but the taste to me was very dark-fruit and raisin-y, tannins, but not nearly as much wood as I'd think for a 20yr. Overall, I found the flavor kind of thin, imbalanced, and it left a bit of an "off" medicinal (or spicy?) flavor in my mouth. I drank it neat, so maybe a little water wold have helped? To me the whole thing tasted like they were maybe working hard to make these barrels good...and they ended up with something drinkable with a great story...but not worth the coin in my book. Gonna let it sit for a while and then see if it changes.
