If she doesn't want to use them, don't force it. Cops pull over people who don't turn off their brights all the time. You will be blamed. Cars still function without them on.

You guys are all correct. Ima find videos to watch and pretend I'm not about to die. [emoji16]
Why don't you just drive?
Except that it was introduced in '52..... but let's be honest, most of y'all were around then.

Every time you hit a dark stretch of road bring up one of your sons. Talk about how bright he is but he can't see into the distance well, even though he's very bright. You are trying to shine a light on his road to after college. And once you shine a light on his path, he will see all the deer hiding to get him, and everyone around him will feel safe, including you. But you are not too worried because he is very very BRIGHT, he just can't visualize what's coming up on the road well.
My car has shitty auto brights but that doesn't mean yours does. It's hard to compare unless you've driven ALL the cars.
I can imagine that police strategy working in the 90s. Now with aftermarket bulbs, lifted trucks etc there’s so many high brightness drivers I can’t imagine cops pulling ‘em all over.
It would be nice if they did though. Getting blinded by these assholes is really getting old.
My tacoma has auto dimming headlights. They are really annoying. They dim if I'm approaching a big enough road sign with a reflective surface. Then not only do I have the reflection shining back at me but also dimmer lights so I can't see as well. It's really fun in fall when all the deer are out.
I rarely even use the high beams in any of my vehicles. I do have some ridiculously bright yellow aux headlights mounted behind the grill of my tundra. Fun to throw those on for people who don't dim. Drove across AZ in the middle of the night recently and it was amazing how few people would dim their lights for oncoming traffic. No fucks given on the res I guess.
My wife refuses to accept the fact that our accountant will be filing our taxes close to tax day. Keep asking "Have you heard from the accountant yet?" like every day. We own a few businesses and shit gets complicated. I get it, as long as it is done by the cutoff, we are cool. She wants them done ASAP and cannot accept the fact that we are not the typical W2 filers who can just do turbo tax and be done with it. Drives me nuts!
Get her a [gently used] MB with the intelligent LEDs! I know I bragged about them plenty already when I acquired my wagon, but now that I've had it since last summer, I am STILL blown away by these torches every time I drive at night. And not annoying to oncoming traffic. Absurdly good lighting system. I know Audi and BMW make ones that are probably comparable these days. I think BMW has a laser based one? Neighbor down the street has a newer 4 series coupe with those and they're insanely good too. As a pedestrian, when he's coming toward me at night, they are somehow not a bother at all. I'm guess they're "intelligent" lights too? I think they're supposed to target pedestrians but not blind them. Crazy good system either way. Point being, my wife too is bad about using her brights (how they don't notice is beyond me), but the new to us car has completely resolved that issue. YMMV. :D

Reading is fundamental. Who said anything about anyone here driving drunk, encouraged it, suggested they might do it? frorider asked if cops pulled people over for having their brights on and I gave him the example I had seen. They didn't post every pull-over in the blotter, just the ones that ended with an arrest, so those are the ones I read. The closest your twisted logic could come is me telling skaredshtlss to let his wife leave the brights off because if she gets pulled over, she'll blame him. I did not suggest she drive drunk, nor hint that she might. But who likes getting pulled over, period? And she might blame him if she does get pulled over, regardless of what results from the stop. Please explain to me how I or anyone here made even the slightest hint of a suggestion that someone should drive drunk.
Auto brights are faster than I am on the dimmer switch and with all the suicidal unglets roaming the highways one has to see wtf they are going to hit IME
I think if a cop wants to mess with you he just pulls you over, smashes the tail light and writes you the broken tailight ticket and if you happen to be DUI even better
Have her stand in front of the car at night while you flick the high beams on and off.
Guaranteed to do ...... something.
