Lack of DH makes for a more strategic "small ball type game with low scoring pitchers' duels.
The reason that pitchers leave the game after 5 innings is expansion (not as many good pitchers to go around) the longstanding trend of specialty pitchers (lefty/righty, set up, closer) and expanded rosters.
The best way to do that is reduce team rosters to 30 from 40, and make it so no team can have more than 9 pitchers on their roster.Quote:

2: 5 innings for a game to become official

In general... baseball is screwed compared to the NBA and NFL. The latter two leagues have monster TV contracts, baseball not nearly as much and far more reliant on ticket sales, etc.
