Ballet..
Poor Lindsey. She was trying really hard to make the media laugh, and she got nothing in return.
Her courage is limitless. I hope she crushes the downhill
The ultimate speed suit.
^yes please.
About to to turn the race on tonight. These are the best of times and sad times. I hope Vonn keeps herself in the limelight after this.

no pity here --
while I believe there has been great courage, courage has limits
( attempting to do something After able-ness is lost, is not courage. )
LV may no longer be (physically) able - but If LV skis to her able-ness ,
she can stand tall and proud.
Nice career for a girl from minnesota ! !!
Salute ! !!!
( I cannot imagine a better finale than gunnin' for a DH win )

I've got ten bucks that says that IF she wins tomorrow she walks back the retirement, if not immediately, next season.
Great career and everyone makes their choices.
Her choices will see her walking with a cane way too early. I wonder if she'll look back and be ok with that.
Agreed, that she should go out in style, like Didier Cuche.

If I may read between the lines...part of her decision, despite the “who says I won’t win the DH?!?” comment in the vid, is that her body is not letting her podium anymore. Because of the constant stream of knee issues, she not only is more likely to continue the injuries, but she is also slipping out of the zone where her performances are likely to get her on the podium.
Grand & awe-inspiring career
We should all be so successful
Also, I can’t imagine her “out of the limelight”...she seems to like the public eye
From LV Instagram posing with her teammate. Skier chicks have the finest ass cheeks for sure. Even when mangled. Vonn took a beating too. Tough gals!

A Third in her final race, given all of the recent injuries, is a good result. Ingemar hanging with her during the interview was cool.
She can be proud of that. Good for her.
Fantastic.

Just finished watching the recording. Excellent final effort for her age and physical condition. Here's to hoping she sticks to the plan to call it over going out this way instead of walking back the decision to retire and stay retired.
I'm also a Buck Hill Ski Team alum, but Freestyle Team. Was an excellent place to learn to ski. Taught there my senior year in high school. Rope tow laps on the training hills FTW!
Greatest ski racer of all time, male or female. Pretty cool that in a sport dominated by grumpy old Euro's(see FIS pres' latest rant) that the two best will end up being 'Murican woman.
Greatest of all time? “Like, that’s just your opinion man...”
Bode interviews Vonn & Stenmark,(the greatest ski racer of all time).

It's like when they used to show the computer fight between Ali and Marciano. Personally, I like Pirmin Zurbrigggen, Herman Maier, Alberto Tomba, Katja Seizunger, Tina Maze and Vreni Schneider. While they may not have as many titles, I would include them as "just as greats."
On last time.
Awesome for her to close out her career on the podium. Here’s to her putting her Harvard biz school to some fun projects!
