Black and red interior?
Subaru's had plenty of time to turbo the BRZ. Sales have really fallen off, I wonder why they haven't done it yet. Give it the same engine that's in the 2015 WRX and it would be a real blast.
Apparently the turbo isn't going to happen. I understand why people want more power, but I happen to think the power levels of the car suit it perfectly. It isn't a competitor to the modern breed of ultra fast GT cars, but a throwback to the simple, rewarding cars of the 80's and early 90's. I had a few 2nd gen RX-7's when I was in high school/college which I adored. This car is just like them with the benefits of being 25 years newer. I do like the low CG from the boxer motor, but if it were up to me, this car would have a 3S-GE Beams engine. Maybe when the warranty is up I'll throw one in there.
It's got plenty big balls. Enough to get me into plenty of trouble. I can keep up and sometimes even pull a hill or two with the A level cars on the open road between 30 and license suspended instantly speed and get ~30mpg doing it. I watch nearly everybody wrestle with corners on tight backroads and I wonder why. Fun as shit to rally with. Heheh... had a good run on the way home tonight with a guy in a blue Rex for about 30 miles.
By the same token something about a 1962 or so Olds 215 V8 with a factory turbo (yes there was one) and a Muncie 4 speed or maybe a Tremec 5 speed would make it fkna perfect methinks.
That Amazon is awesome! A wagon to be proud of.
But why not make it an option?
I get that the car is well balanced as-is, but if people would buy a turbo, why not offer it?
Kind of like the old Shelby Mustangs and Cobras. The GT350 and 289 Cobras were the well balanced ones, but they still offered the 427 cobra and GT500 with the huge motors for those who wanted them.
Gorgeous car and I just did the same... I just purchased my neighbors loaded 2005 BMW 545i Sport with 20,000 miles... The car was only driven on weekends and covered in the winter... I had no clue to the performance of this car and have become a BMW fanboy... My co-worker just purchased an M3 and that car is for realz...
Congrats...
All kinds of aftermarket stuff out there for the BRZ if you want power.
This should get you moving:

Yeah, that won't void the warranty or anything...
I'd take a 289 cobra any day or a whopping, over-powered 427 cobra. 289 was a fine engine and I'm more into finessing the wheel and the stick shift than simply stomping on the pedal. I had a friend with a Mustang coupe 289...can't remember exact year...1967??...but that thing was just great all around car. I would be just as h happy with a six, if it had good, tight steering and a decent tranny.
As to the above: I'm making a small presumption on the 289 vs 427 cobra....having not driven any cobra at all!!! That's like asking which car I prefer: the Ferrari 250 LM or the 250 GTO. (I actually like the 250 LM better....call me crazy.)
I want one.
Unfortunately, about the only road this Mercedes looker is going to see are the virtual roads of the next Grant Turismo video game. :(

Fucking ugly Merc.
Needs moar grill.
I wouldn't mind driving it. Beauty is wholly qualitative, but IMO, that is the best looking Mercedes to come out of Munich (if it was even designed by the main team) in quite a number of years.
Lets face it, Mercedes hasn't really come out with an innately beautiful design since they introduced the 1955? 190SL roadster and the 1955 300SL coupe and roadster. The recent gullwing came close, but still missed that very high mark set by the original 300SL coupe. The lusciously organic lines of that Vision concept car reach and perhaps surpass that mark, in my opinion.
But yeah...that grill....wtf were they thinking there? Not as bad as the Edsel grill, but I'm not sure how the grill got final approval when the rest of the car is so sexy. Mind you, that car was actually designed strictly for the Gran Turismo game...so the story goes...so maybe the grill had to look a certain way in the rearview mirror POV of the other gamer cars.
Going back to the BRZ/FRS, I've got one too and although it's underpowered, I agree that it's still a blast, and an homage to some of the great 2+2 cars of the past. I've owned a 944 and an RX7, and the BRZ/FRS is right up there with them.
And as ice said, there are tons of options for more power.
As a proud Benz owner, gotta say that thing is ugly as fuck.
Eh...so I missed by 140 miles, big whoop (lol...haven't used that term since I was 14...felt good). Maybe since the halfway point from Munich to Stuttgart is LegoLand....Mercedes-Benz should just shift their headquarters and design operations to LegoLand Deutschland. That would be really cool. They can have little Lego headquarters; a Lego race-track replete with little Lego AMGs...and little head of operations Lego person that continually fights with the Director of Engineering Lego person, who in turn, fights with the Director of Finance...and then they can have hot little blonde Lego secretaries that wear fishnet stockings and all look like a Lego version of a young Cameron Diaz.
Aston makes the best looking cars on the road.

Beer drinker might be on to something. Think I'll go home and have a beer. The Aston are good looking cars though.
