Apparently the turbo isn't going to happen. I understand why people want more power, but I happen to think the power levels of the car suit it perfectly. It isn't a competitor to the modern breed of ultra fast GT cars, but a throwback to the simple, rewarding cars of the 80's and early 90's. I had a few 2nd gen RX-7's when I was in high school/college which I adored. This car is just like them with the benefits of being 25 years newer. I do like the low CG from the boxer motor, but if it were up to me, this car would have a 3S-GE Beams engine. Maybe when the warranty is up I'll throw one in there.Quote:

Kind of like the old Shelby Mustangs and Cobras. The GT350 and 289 Cobras were the well balanced ones, but they still offered the 427 cobra and GT500 with the huge motors for those who wanted them.

I wouldn't mind driving it. Beauty is wholly qualitative, but IMO, that is the best looking Mercedes to come out of Munich (if it was even designed by the main team) in quite a number of years.
Lets face it, Mercedes hasn't really come out with an innately beautiful design since they introduced the 1955? 190SL roadster and the 1955 300SL coupe and roadster. The recent gullwing came close, but still missed that very high mark set by the original 300SL coupe. The lusciously organic lines of that Vision concept car reach and perhaps surpass that mark, in my opinion.
But yeah...that grill....wtf were they thinking there? Not as bad as the Edsel grill, but I'm not sure how the grill got final approval when the rest of the car is so sexy. Mind you, that car was actually designed strictly for the Gran Turismo game...so the story goes...so maybe the grill had to look a certain way in the rearview mirror POV of the other gamer cars.

They can have little Lego headquarters; a Lego race-track replete with little Lego AMGs...and little head of operations Lego person that continually fights with the Director of Engineering Lego person, who in turn, fights with the Director of Finance...and then they can have hot little blonde Lego secretaries that wear fishnet stockings and all look like a Lego version of a young Cameron Diaz.Quote:
