Will this thread ever die? Methinks not
not to dig anything up, but I am amazed that this is the second hit one gets on google when searcing for "neptune mountaineering"
amazing
wow. can't believe the negative marketing they got from pissing off a maggot. OOPS! 27 pages? jfc!
3 thing that comes up on google when you search neptune mountaineering
I don't even have the "ambunction" to read why this thread is so special... just thought I'd add to the onslaught. What the hell kind of name is Neptune mountaineering, anyways? Are they planning an expedition to Neptune?
Because that would be sick!
back 2 this shitshow, eh? ...good me likey shadenfreuden. :D
any positive experiences now? have they stopped being pretensous dicks?
Heh. Named after owner Gary Neptune.
But anyways, thats fuckin' great that it's basically the second hit. Right as someone searches for neptune and finds their site, something pops out from the corner of their eye about being banned..."oh...nevermind, I won't go there"
Wow, that's kinda harsh seeing the issue is apparently long since resolved :nonono2:
Glad I found this post...was going to stop by there to get some skis mounted in a week or two...
NOT NOW! :(
This thread is the #3 result on Google for "Neptune Mountaineering"
I cant believe you guys hate NM. I've spent over 60 g's there in the last 15 years. I always get awesome service. We talk about moguls, backcountry, meadow skipping, mountaineering and enlightened buddhist tactics of Coloradoness. Sometimes our aura is so bright you have to shades. We just laugh at most of the unaware:fm:.
You keep track of how many thousands of dollars you have spent in a single store over a fifteen year period?
Dude, you have a boring ass life.
I don't hate them, they're just a store, I reserve my hate for things that are important. But I do prefer to give my hard earned dollars to other businesses, not them.
i wonder how much it annoys them that they can't get this thread off the front page of google search.
prolly maddening when the owner ego-searches "neptune mountaineering" and sees this every damn time.
ha.
i just found a neptune mountaineering nalgene bottle in my garage. i live in washington and have never been to colorado. :yourock:

this thread is definitely a great read!
I used to live behind Soopers there on Table Table for a few years and went into Neptune's twice in 2003 and 2004.
The first time I went in looking for an arcteryx sidewinder and the guy that "helped" me treated me like a complete idiot. I ended up supporting another small business in my hometown (alpine shop in STL) since they were so rude to me. I even left the store wondering what was going on, why would they treat somebody like that who obviously wants to buy an expensive item? I decided that the sales guy I talked to must have been having a bad day and that i would give them another chance since the store seemed to have so much history etc.
I went in again when they had a large banner proclaiming a sale on north face or mountain hardware, something like that. I was again given incredible amounts of 'tude asking simple questions about gear (that they AGAIN didn't seem to know much about!). I left after a couple of minutes.
I can't imagine why anybody would want to shop somewhere with super high prices and employees who make customers want to leave.
This may be late, but I ran across this thread and had to comment. Last year I went into Neptune to see about heat molding two pairs of Nordic racing boots. A young lady (sorry, cant remember her name) with long black hair and large pattern corderoy slacks assisted me. Not only was she friendly and helpful; She actually listened to my issues I was having with the fit and appropriately offered with custom shim inserts and a pair of insoles.
I thanked her during the heat molding process as I was a little overwhelmed with the outstanding service. She replied say that "Well we take care of our customers...I'm of course not going to charge you for the molding.....and hell you bought two pairs of top of the line boots. I had to be honest and confess that I had actually recieved the boots out of state through a pro-deal. She grinned and said...I can probably hook you up.
I asked her what could offer. She said a six pack could cover it. After determining that fat tire would probably do the trick, I returned to pick up my boots with my shiny new insoles. Again, I thanked her for all her technical assistance and generous service. She asked if I wanted to have a beer with her from the sixpack. I had to go, otherwise I really thought this girl was awesome and wanted to cheers a brew.
The point is, I was accomodated immediately as a customer. The salesperson was technically proficient and offered valid insight to help with my boots. Was not pushing any commission. Gracefully ignored the fact that I hadn't actually purchase the boots which were currently being serviced. Not only hooked me up with a sweet tech comp...she followed through and called me out for a six pack! I love it!
I left thinking that, that has to be a cool place to work that someone could pull that off and then openly crack a beer with a customer on the sales floor!
^^
Great 1st post, thanks for bumping a thread from August.
That was some great verbal diahrrea there.
Did she also give you a BJ to complete the great customer service?
WHAT A FUCKING LAME STORY/ATTEMPT/LIE. KEEP DRINKING THE KOOL AID DOOD.
