Oddly enough, said neighbor keeps 3 dwarf steers and a pack of goats on his sprawling .97 acre. And the dog had the nerve to walk into the street between the 2 houses and actually bark at him.
Montucky shit.
Maryland was, too. "Actively harassing" the livestock seems to be the most common benchmark. https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclope...your%20Injury?
How is it possible that the majority of our government (a body that claims to be Christian) lacks even the tiniest shred of empathy, honesty or integrity?

"Looks like youll have to move, because California has the same laws. Let us know what country you end up in that has a different standard". Perhaps if your out in Trumpville. Look at my location dipshat...no dogs getting shot here.

^^^It’s still the same law as trumpville dipshit. Meaning that someone can shoot your dogs for harassing wildlife/domestic animals and they would be in the right, same as all the places you look down your nose at. It sucks and people overplay that hand, but it’s why you have to train your dogs.
Same in Wyoming. Your dog is your responsibility.
We value our wildlife very highly.
If your hound is chasing deer, elk, etc., he can be shot. And its your fault, not his/hers.
Teton county is the most liberal county in the state(which aint sayin much) and we live by that, just like the trumptards. They, otoh, will run over a predator with a sledmobile, we wont.
I used to paint with a guy whose neighbor had a dog that would chase deer. The dog owner didn't care and it pissed my friend off. One day the dog ended up in his yard barking at his domestic turkeys. Guy shot the dog and killed it, threw the carcass in the bed of his pickup, drove to the neighbor's house and when the neighbor walked out the door the guy threw it on the ground and said "Here's your dog motherfucker." Drove away and that was the end of it.
I occasionally run into people who think the fact that my very prey-driven bird-dog wears a shock collar is cruel. No, letting your dog get shot because you can't control what it chases is cruel.
Many years ago this was a big issue in Durango, some city folk had moved to their mini-ranch in the country and were shocked, and made a huge stink, when their dog was shot by the neighbor when it chased the neighbor's livestock.
Typical TGR dick waving fest. I am not talking in rural areas where people have live stock and nor am I discussing dogs running amok off leash. At the beach, yards have fences, I have walls and gates no dog is getting through and they are trained to stay in the yard anyways and there is nothing but squirrels and the occasional cat to chase. I will not put myself or my animals in a place or situation where they can be shot. If you guys want to justify that being just fine, knock yourselves the fuck out. Just sounds fucking stoopid to me, but hey, I wouldn't live there if thems the rulz, so enjoy.
Nobody here is enjoying anything. They’re just telling you the facts. You let your dog run loose in the upstate, it’s gonna get shot. Like other folks has said it’s your responsibility to train your dog.

But you do live there. Thems the rules where you live now. This isnt a TGR dick wave, it's you looking down your nose from your bubble, like you do with pretty much everything you post here. Do you have a massive panic attack and have to pop a Xanax every time you cross that bridge into the big, bad world?

Maybe we need a complementary thread to the upstate’s: where does the city end and dog shooting start?
Guess it is officially summer haha
I've told this story before but I had a dog get shot and I didn't even know it. Obviously I don't know when it happened but I suspect the rednecks down the street from where we used to live, they were the type for sure. Anyways, the dog got old, got cancer, and I took him to the vet for an x-ray. The prognosis was bad, but before I left, the vet asked, "By the way, who shot your dog?" I said, "Nobody." He said, they sure did, and he showed me the x-ray they had taken and sure enough. Bullet right there in the body cavity. Tough dog.
Tough pair of jeans on that dog I'd say

I had the blue ones in 2nd grade. Wore them every Friday.
