And then another month of storms right?

I hope so. The longer range models keep troughiness over the west through the 14 day period, just need the jet to sag a bit further south...
I'll be in your neck of the woods visiting my folks mid-month. Since my wife is with me and she's skiing, its guaranteed to snow.
bluebird and 25 today, perfect conditions really. Mon and Tuesday highs look above freezing for the first time in long time. Wed/Thurs looks like a fast storm.
81mph winds reported here in Boulder. My whole apt complex is shaking.
I am in Golden and it is crazy windy...the good news is the weather report said it should stay in the foothills and plainsnand they are not calling for high winds above 9K
Holy crazy warm batman! 40 degrees in Edwards today....wow.
Pretty windy at Loveland today. I've seen worse but the ridge looked like a shitstorm.
I wish we would get some more snow...the San Juans got hit hard and the front range got nothing...it has been like one inch of fresh every day for the last two weeks (or at least it seems).
How will these warm temps effect our highly unstable snow pack in the front range?
Holy summertime batman! Sunny and 40 again today. This should help to settle the pack a bit. Storm for tomorrow looks like 4-6 maybe for the north and a bunch of nothing for everyone else. This weekend looks more active, but the SWerly winds will have their usual outcome for Eagle County. Active pattern for most of the week however and cooler more seasonable temps for the weekend.
Good to see you staying on top of things, Matt. ;)
nothing else to do.
4-6 inches... i knew it wasnt going to happen.
Mon-Wed next best shot at measurable snow that matters....at least for Eagle County
Come on baby, let the jet sag please
sunny and 45 today in Eagle County...WARM
Snow conditions at the resorts right now = THE SUCK. I feel bad for all those tourists who spent thousands of $$ to come ski icy hard pack.
Not sure what to think about this storm tomorrow. Not all that impressive but some forcing and a good NW flow. I'd say probably 2-4" but wouldn't be stunned to see a tad more or a tad less. At least it is gonna get cold again.
Steve- You not out doin any bc yet?
snow machine turns on again for western slope through end of next week. Afternoon QPFs through Thursday looked impressive.
If this system pans out, I'll be skiing sunday.

It's pretty cold here. Bought to head up to Ball Mtn/E Side of town. Hope it's filled in enough by now.
I heart a NW flow. Thursday looks WARM before the weekend storm. Heard a report of -30 actual temp in Oak Creek this morning, that is Montana cold. -7 at our place this morning.
Wow almost got frostbite on my toes today. Sweaty feet+fucking cold= bad news
We have so much snow here... keeps coming down! I was riding in snow up to my chest yesterday, was a struggle at times!

HfT - those first two look especially juicy. Did you make some turns or mostly just a recon mission of sorts? Do you have a sled - or how did you access...that road isn't plowed, is it?
^^^^ Good point, jt.

indeed, east portal. I had plans to make some mellower pow turns around heart lake, but I was freezing and just headed back down. I guess thats the price you pay for the early morning light. Need to go back with a partner next time...
went up Buckeye Gulch yesterday, and found fantastic snow on E aspect!! 8-10 inches of blower on top of a soft base = really good skiing!!!! No signs of instability were observed, nor did I see any signs of natural slides on the steeper lines off Buckeye Peak.
Going back for seconds this afternoon, as soon as I can leave the shop. Damn its slow today! Someone come in and give me something to do...
try and keep the AVY obs in the slide zone so those can see em....weather in this spot.
Sweet pics by the way...droooool
