Skied at Mission this afternoon. I strongly recommend checking their operational status beforehand if you’re thinking of going. It was fun, sunny skiing but only 2 lifts spinning.
Seems like La Niña is not usually kind to the windy hill. Spokane is on pace for record December snowfall and Steven’s was just closed for avalanche control and we’re in a drought. Snow is pretty good for what’s there though. Saw tracks in Christmas Tree today. More power to you.
Terrible, stay the fuck away. We don’t need more corona virus here. It’s too rocky and we won’t have more terrain open until after New Year.

The travel was really good actually; it was my pals first volcano, so we were getting him some practice with the tools. The sun was out and amazing until about noon when the clouds moved in. We were hoping after the big wind and inversion that the solar aspect would soften- even without the sun it was pretty good. Edgeable everywhere except on the bottom few thousand feet. Very worthy outing, can’t wait for more clear weather! And more pow of course.

When I started skiing, you had to walk up.
Wow. Lots of you guys come of as a bunch of assholes about the “buck up or don’t teach your kids to ski”. SMH...
Got my little one out skiing yesterday and she seemed pretty stoked.

She was a little apprehensive on the first run down, but by the 3rd lap down she figured out to run out in front.
or balls are getting busted because it's utterly ridiculous to expect any level of normalcy this year. as you said above, this is gonna be a rough season to ski with small children. there were years as a young child that I didn't ski at all due to a variety of circumstances and I still managed to become a competent skier. kids are resilient.
perhaps this just isn't the year to take your kids skiing if you can't figure out how to provide for their basic needs?
are you a parent of small skiers unsatisfied with your resort's amenities during this global pandemic and need a shoulder to cry on but the assholes at tgr are treating you like a total jong? find solace here.

People should stay close to home. It’s not like I don’t want to see little kids having fun on the slopes but we don’t need more people from out of town. Our hospital is full COVID is widespread in our county. For our safety and yours, stay away. More people at our hill with limited terrain and lifts will likely compound the problem.

You're in Culp country. It ain't the outsiders who are causing your current crisis. And their presence or absence won't fix it either. You live amongst dumbshits. Your best bet is to hunker down and avoid your shitty resort.
I don’t have any little kids anymore. I agree it is a less than optimal year and far from normal.
Sounds like based on all the comments here, I should send all the people with kids to Lot 4 at Alpy...clog it with minivans with soft kids who need a safe place. Should add to the ambience and stoke. [emoji6]
We're only accepting Sprinters now. [emoji6]
Not just Alpental. All of Summit has good parking for kids. Plus Stevens isn't too shabby either if you get there early (needed for Lot 4, too). I was just trying to say that we're actually lucky to have options here that have reasonably close parking for skiing with kids. My youngest is now 10, so it wasn't too long ago that I was dealing with the fall down, crying on the snow meltdowns. I chose to teach my kids at Alpental not just because it was closest to my house, but it offered a place that made it easier on me as a parent. We're lucky to have the choices we do here in the PNW. That helps in these crazy years. If I came across differently, I'll make sure to use more emojis next time.
But don’t zip straight from the middle of the run to the side when you decide to stop, thereby unexpectedly cutting off a bunch of people. And when you get to the side, don’t stop by that jump trail coming out of the trees. Or by the side hit the boarders like. Fuck, parenting is hard. Where did I park again??
You’re a retard, it has nothing to do with party affiliation. Biden/Inslee(my vote) voters are just as likely to spread this as Trump/Culp voters. The way they spread it is different. Small private parties or no masks in public. Stay home you selfish asshole.

Skiers in the Seattle area have a choice, not just me. I know lots of people who live by me in Issaquah but choose to drive farther to Crystal or Stevens for various reasons. If you live in Enumclaw, of course Crystal seems to be most logical choice. But choosing to go to Alpental/Summit from there isn't much different than a person in Issaquah going to Crystal. Everyone's calculus is different. I love Crystal's terrain and if it was just me skiing, that's probably where I would go. But it's not just me, so that adjusts my calculus. That's why we're all lucky to have choices, even though we all wish were had even more choices.
