About to pull the trigger on a 2015 or 16 Volvo V60.
Anyone adventured this direction yet? They offer a turbo 4cyl 240hp 25-37mpg and in the AWD version a turbo 5 cyl 250hp 20-29mpg.
I leaning towards the AWD.

Just saw one of those in the flesh for the first time, and it's a good looking wagon.
lolvo has been off my radar for a while, but I'm definitely intrigued.
What's crazy is that car is 10 years older than my A4 avant S-line with 15k less miles and worth almost the same!!!!
Somewhat different car but I have a 2008 V50 T5 in AWD. 9 years and 80K miles in, it still drives awesome and given the AWD and weight sticks to snow covered roads like you wouldn't believe. Definitely a tad small though...
Update on my thoughts on this one:
My wife's XC70T6 had to be taken in for an oil change this morning so I offered to do it on my way to work. They gave me a fully loaded 2016 V60 T5 as a loaner.
While definitely smaller than the XC70 it was a great wagon! Plenty of pickup and go, and very comfortable. Also the Volvo "concierge" (I'm still waiting on my sandwich pal, get with it or drop the title) said they're giving the 2016s away right now as the completely new model comes out this fall. He even asked if I wanted to be made aware when this loaner is listed for sale later this year as a CPO (no thanks I'm good I told him)
Also when I brought it back I checked out the new V90XC - so slick. Only thing is the cargo space is so much smaller than the previous generation. You cut a lot of space out with that raked rear window. If you want tons of cargo room you gotta go XC90 with no 3rd row.

...I hadn't heard that the 2018 xc60 will have air suspension. Not a fan of that for long term ownership.
The weird thing I am finding as I research used 2015 and 16's, if you want stuff like Blis and navigation, I am finding those options mostly, if not only, in the FWD V60's. The AWD seem to want to max out with backup cam. They are certainly not coming standard with the fancy stuff.
So be posh or have AWD for the occasional mid Atlantic snow? Also lose 10hp with the FWD.
how far are you searching? A casual glance at the local Volvo dealer had v60s in awd with BLIS and nav.
Edit: just went to link it and the fucker is gone. Wtf?
I have a 2012 S60 T6 R-D, AWD. Sedan, the wagon didn't become available until a year or two later. Mine was a CPO, got it for 32k when it would have retailed for 49ish new. I've been fairly happy with it, only major off-warranty fix I've had to do thus far was to replace the A/C compressor at 55k, for some bad clutch bearings or whatever. Why couldn't that have happened like a year earlier and 10k miles sooner...
As for the wagon to sedan comparo for it, the trunk has a drop down in the sedan and that goes away entirely in the wagon, so you don't have all that much more space with the raked greenhouse. It's a little too much of a fastback IMO. I haven't seen a V90 yet but that looks a lot more comparable to what I'm used to with my other lolvo, a 245 wagon, that thing can carry a refrigerator in the back!
As I have previously said, I am on our/my 4th Volvo wagon. Every car has been better than the one before it. I can only imagine how well made the new ones are, as mine is an 06, but with 300hp, awd and a manual trans, I honestly am in the camp that I will keep this car forever. She is 11 years old now, but when I look at her, I still think she looks great.
I like the look of these new volvos. annoying that I had hoped to not replace mine for another 10 yrs tho
If you just look at the V90 cc, the price is up to $60k. Really like it and trying to replace the wife's ride, but that is just too damn much. The premium sound is a fucking $3k option.
Audi allroad ('13) lover here. Have always loved Audi's, love this car, how it drives, the tip-tronic, the interior, etc...EXCEPT this big winter we've had in Tahoe has really pushed the 7.1" of ground clearance. On paper, the new v90 cross country looks appealing to me with 8.3" of ground clearance + being nicer/faster than a subaru + still a wagon / not an SUV.
I have to say though my brother and his wife owned a Cross Country and I believe it pretty much shit the bed a couple times with high $$ repairs as it got higher in the mileage (not obscene mileage, like over 100K). I'm also a little worried about being mistaken for a soccer mom...but the new lines do look significantly cooler than past.
I wonder if I could put a hitch on it and I wonder if it has manual shifting option - both requirements for me
