If y'all want to stop bitching about who's more of an internet twatwaffle, the NYT posted a long but interesting piece on the NRA's transition from sporting organization to gun lobby behemoth:

Wow - that is an eye opener
Actual journalism…imagine had that article from a more baldly partisan outlet: howling about divisive fearmongering clickbait
[Cue the #bothsides distraction arguments anyway]

The Largest Source of Stolen Guns? Parked Cars.
And yes, I will keep stumping on this same guns in cars rant until its highly illegal for anyone but an actual cop or professional security guard to roll with a loaded handgun in their car. It should be just as illegal for me to have a gun in my car is it is for the punk who stole yours from your car..

I'm saying nobody needs a loaded gun in public unless they are doing job where carrying a gun is required and are thus "well regulated" while carrying that gun. People get pissed off, it's human nature.. So everyone shouldn't all be rambling around with guns. Nobody should unless they're "well regulated" and body cams need to be part of that oversight. .
We need to go back to the way handguns (and military stile weapons) were regulated in the 50s.
Serious question. Simple question. Why do you 2A doods feel you have no responsibility for public safety with your Right to Bear Arms?
Gunfags will never get it until they’re 6feet under

So you need a body cam just to take a trip to the range?
How does the loaded vs unloaded nature of a gun matter to it getting stolen? If anything, a loaded gun is able to be used to prevent the theft of said gun while an unloaded one isn't.
Can you explain your ideas more than just things that make life more difficult for gun owners? how would they help specifically?
You don’t like it when other people follow your modus operandi, do you?
There are plenty of examples of common sense firearm transportation laws from other countries that have strong hunting and gun hobby cultures…

Anyone with an opinion.
I had two relatives who served in the Will Regulated Militia. One in 1777 and another in 1812. Research showed that they had to take on the responsibility of training in the safe use and proficiency with their muskets. So it's been on my radar and has me wondering. Why is the responsibility part of 2A no longer considered necessary?
