Its too cold for efficient snow growth. The parade of storms continues into this week.
Keep 'em coming. Copper was good today. I swear no one is skiing the trees there. Well, except for me. Made for a good day of calf to knee deep almost every tree run. Winds were blowing fierce up on Fremont Pass this evening.
If you average the exaggerated totals of snowforecast and Noaa, we should still be slated for at LEAST 15 to 30 by Thursday...
Merry Fucking X-mas :)
The 5-day QPF forecasts this morning were ridiculous 3+ inches in the northern and central mountains with 4+ inches for the San Juans.
this is fucking crazy.
5 day total QPF.....

woot woot! The pain train rolls right along. Not lovin the winds for Eagle County, but still shaping up for another good week of snowfall.
Wow this week looks nice. Mon 4-6, Tues 5-8, Wed 4-7, Thurs 6-10 and Fri 5-8.
typical SW flow for Eagle County today....just VERY light snow for the most part....an inch at the most on the valley floor and quite warm. Looks like the Elks have been getiing it good for quite awhile.
The CDOT cameras are starting to look decent from the West Vail spot :)
2 AM and it's been nuking for hours!!!!
wooohooo! double digit pow day! see ya up there peeps, have fun... i know i will :)
holy crap....SW flow delivers the goods for Eagle County.
Hopefully it continues throughout the day today...
I think it should as the main L and cold core have yet to move over the State. I'd expect another 4-8 throughout the day with the snow tappering off tonight with 1-3 addtl.
The Christmas storm is really starting to take shape. Friday has the potential of being a :fmicon: kind of day.
27 inches in 24 at Wolf Creek?
Anyone know why NOAA vail current conditions has been offline for 2 or 3 days? Do they know?
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!
The Beav delivered the goods this morning....Merry Effin Christmas!
Flail did not suck this morning, I'm sure somebody will post pics. Gotta get out of the office in a bit to catch the last lift so I can get home, which will not suck either.
The Mile should be 100% ridiculous.
Breck was really good this morning. Best day of the season so far. Definitely 16" or so new up top and the visibility was great with partly sunny skies most of the morning. Looks like the snow is rolling back in again.:)
after what could be another substantial dumping on Christmas and Friday, the pattern looks to chill for a few days. Looks like sunny skies and high pressure til New Years where it might begin to shift back to stormy!
19" plus in Aspen. Best day of the year!
Vail was insane today...best day of the year for me by far. The trees out the Earl's bowl gate were so money, pillows galore.
Even breck was teh anti-suck today. Faceshots all day in the right spots...
I'll upload one shitty pic later.
I hit up breck too yesterday... chair 6 was the shit for about an hour
if you are planning on skiing SW CO this weekend, leave now or early tomorrow morning.
flurries in Eagle County all day...maybe an inch on the hill. Typical, not pushing thru yet with the SW flow. Cold front yet to drop thru, maybe it'll turn out like Tuesday.
funny, not really. I have to work tomorrow so it doesn't do me much good anyway. Merry Christmas D.
Judging by the radar... this storm kinda sucked? Any updates from the high country? Low pressure should moving through again Sunday with NW flow
Vail was nice today. It is skiing really very well. It was snowing pretty good when I left the mountain and continuing into this evening, but as of right now in Edwards the snow has slowed. Sort of on and off, but the skiing is great.
breather for the next week or so...
