I'm not sure I've ever parked in the lots on the east side of the pass. I always pull into that first entrance (coming from the west) and parked there and those will remain first come, first serve. Is there some reason the lots on the other side are more desirable?
You can ski out on the tree run just outside the boundary kinda near the bottom of big chief. So you get to ski right to your car is the reason its desirable. Also I always end up in those lots as someone coming up from the east side which kinda sucks for us, but its 2mins more driving I guess
Got to experience our first true Crystal crush this morning. Thought we were being clever leaving from Enumclaw but a bad night of sleep killed our departure time just enough to doom us.
Eventually turned around and gave up several miles before the turn. For us it just became too surreal.

Great day up high at Snoqualmie - most open terrain even at lower elevations was good after the new snow last night.

Left Kirkland at 6 yesterday . Hit the 410 junction at 7. Lots of cars but pretty quick up to the lot for an 8am arrival . Some asshat on the boulevard had already found the ditch in their Subaru .. first time driving in snow ? Wtf. But yes need to hit that 410 junction by 715 latest on a busy day . Like Thursday was surprising how many people had gotten up there early but once they got everything going the lines weren’t bad at all .

I don't know Crystal that well as I've only hit it a handful of times, but damn Friday and Saturday were good. Northway was real nice Friday afternoon, and not too shabby Saturday morning either.
Danko, good to meet you and make some turns. Fantastic timing indeed on that work trip!
Saturday was great too. I've never been out towards southback, and due to my partner being an out of shape snowboarder...we did not go the whole way, but best run of the year dropping into what looks like the Hamburger zone.

Going to be in walla walla next weekend for a family event. Have Saturday free anyone have any advice on Anthony Lakes vs Bluewood as to where I should go?
Open to any other suggestions w/in a day trip of that area too.
Bluewood is closer, great tree skiing with new snow, nice winding groomers, low key vibe.
Anthony Lakes is great, more likely to have good snow with it’s 7800’ base. Not as much vertical as Bluewood but better fall line and again really nice glades/trees. Great old school vibe. Probably 2-2.5 hours with good roads.
We’re heading to AL this week for $30 Thursday.

thanks for the info! I'll see what conditions are like and go from there. I'll pop back in here to see if you add anything too.
have a great trip!
