What kind of pungent are we talking?
The first heat snap of the Spring I decided to try a little mixing with ingredients I had on hand. I made up what I'm calling a "VTGin and Juice".
Tanqueray
Juice from a half lemon
A bit of OJ
And a good pour of Robust Maple Syrup
I think I found my drink of Summer

Navy-strength, Japanese parsnip infused, Foreigner Edition, James Gin available in the US. I just heard and was going to order a bottle. Are you saying hard pass?
Got this recently. It’s a nice change-up from my go-to Beefeater.

Depends on your sense of cocktail adventure.
Given you venture past Labor Day with the G&Ts and likely sport your whites thereafter, you may admit that profile.
It is imbued with juniper, as must all "gins" be, but this has __more__. Way ___more___.
I fuck around with taste, so I find it interesting. Then again, I like the Botanist and try sampling local gins when I can.
For the staid classicist, I might recommend a pass.
In that event, I'll recommend a pass for you unless you dare to have some colour in the cabinet.Quote:
Well then, I’m intrigued. I’m going to pull the trigger.
And I know it’s not in focus, but there’s a whole bunch of new brownwater in the cart there, and more in the bar. Allocation season was actually fruitful this year. There’s also some Citadelle frog gin too. No aversion to color here. :)
And yes, I play fast and loose with the whites and G&T season. It’s acceptable down here and keeps others on their toes elsewhere ;)
I look forward to comparing notes with ya on the James. And hopefully some James May quotes.
Get some Zirbenz to colour (sic) up your summer G&Ts, made from Arolla stone pine in Austria, so in the same vein as juniper, but a little more forward. Plus it puts a pink on the glass.

And fuck, it's still raining with highs just beginning to creep into the 60s here. That said, the lifts are still running.
Oh I have rocked the pink with the houndstooth often...
tweed, not so much
Pffft, heresy. Uncultured people.
White soles? The standard issue Gold Cup Sperrys are year-round wear. White soles and all. Paging Art Shirk...
Not wrong, just James. That said, who looks forward to a gas station digital watch release?
I like to wind my watch and vary my sartorial and cocktail choices by season.
Only men who can pull off full whites year round ( if at all) are Riger Federer and Tom Wolfe
Enough of your folderol, gentlemen.
PARSNIPS?!?!? That's just one step away from skunk scent glands.
The US distro blurb got me.
Quote:
Hello American person, and greetings from l’il ol’ England. I’m delighted by your enthusiasm for Asian Parsnip, to the extent that I’ve finally worked (‘figured’) out a way to send it to you. Be assured that the gin is exactly the same as the one we have in the Main Land; it’s just the bottle that’s different.
There’s a new back label, with a mandatory message from your Surgeon General warning you not to consume gin under any circumstances, as it could lead to imbecility. But they said that about jazz in the early 20th century, and now look.
Order now, and please feel free to actually drink it, in complete safety (unless driving, operating machinery, or pregnant).
With love,
JM
