Saw UFO a couple of years ago. Really good band. It seems like every song has a little jam session in the middle where Vinnie and Paul Raymond go off. Very impressive show. Phil's vocals were strong and he was hilarious to boot!

Caught Trombone Shorty last night. Had never seen him and didn't know much about them beforehand.
I was pretty much blown away by the performance. They cross so many genres and do them all incredibly well. The old school jazz was my favorite, but he hard blaring rock guitar was incredible also. The played an old music hall that is seated...definitely not a seated show! Some of the stuffy wanker season ticket holders were a little bent from many of us standing. Screw them!
you're scaring me, man
saw Pink Talking Phish in Stowe VT. Very fun cover band playing excellent renditions of three of my favorite bands. Saw them play a 3 AM set at a festival a few years ago. Go see!

figured you'd have heard of them is all.
touche'. Pink Floyd probably. not Pink.
A year ago or so, caught The Allman Bros. And Trombone legitimately brought the house down 3 times that night. When he stepped out, he got everyone to their feet, blew us away and then stepped back with the house going crazy in celebration. It was kind of awesome.
(Shorty)Troy's awesome, but if you get to New Orleans check out his cousins Glen David and James as well. James holds an open jam at the Hill/Andrews family bar, the Ooh Poo Pah Doo Bar, up in the Treme. Named for an early R&B hit, by Jesse Hill, the patriarch of the family. It's a great little hole in the wall bar in the hood- if you go out the side door to have a smoke you might find yourself, like me, burning one with the band...
That b the one :)
How lucky to catch that one before Greg fell ill !
Just saw Turnpike Troubadors with the gf this week. Pretty killer set!
Going to a couple shows in Reno this week.
King's X tomorrow night

holy fuck did Galactic blow the roof off of the 300 capacity Knotty Pine in inner city Victor Idaho last night! Whoa!
Top three highlights for me were:
- Third song, Right On, and Erica Falls just fucking killed it. Lit everybody up big time! [link below to the album version]
- Cover of Dylan's Rolling Stone----
- Stepping out back at set break, asking if anyone had a bowl to contribute to, and being told 'dude, our generation doesn't do bowls, we do blunts...here'.
^That's pretty funny... love a good band in a small venue like that.
Last week, we were riding the lift and my daughter and friend looked over at me in shock. I was sucking water from my camelback and they thought I was vaping.
Did anyone score Dead tickets for this summer? I'm hoping for some decent seats at Fenway, the last show, Saturday night. Could be epic if it's one of those beautiful summer evenings and they decide to finish on fire.
Bummed I didn't get to Galactic. Always good over there.
I scored hot seats for Dead and Co both nights at Alpine. If my family gives me the green light I might do another one if it fits into my schedule. Wasn't too hot on this line up right off the bat but they grew on me. Most of what I've heard has been excellent and everyone I talk to that has seen them says the feeling is there. Fired up for the summer tour!
Saw Warren Haynes on Tuesday night at the 1000-seat Fitzgerald (Garrison Keillor's home court). Beyond the pale good. Like Knopfler, he attracts world class musicians to play with him -- the guy playing electric banjo is out of hand. And the covers killed it: Skin it Back, All Along the Watchtower, Crazy Fingers >> Lowell, Bob and Jerry would really dig what Warren is doing with their songs.

Anybody make to Anders Osborne in Milwaukee last night? Or Chicago tonight? Anne Harris joined on violin, holy shit was she blowing it up last night! [via the stream thanks to their PBS station]
Uli Roth brought his Ultimate Guitar Experience to Reno this week. Barely 50 people in there on a Tue night. And all for just $20!
Hadn't heard of Andy Timmons before but he was good
Next up was Jennifer Batten
Uli played a couple solo tunes but stuck mostly to old Scorpions which everyone wanted to hear.
And they all jammed to a couple Hendrix tunes to finish off the night.
