I bought a Shark hand vac direct from the company that stopped working after I used it a few times. I called for a return authorization and mailing label--they have no online option--and they said they would email it. After a couple of weeks I called again. After a couple more weeks I filed a dispute with my CC. And just for giggles I file a complaint with California DOJ. After a month my bank closes the dispute and gives me a refund. And a week after that I get an email from DOJ saying they contacted Sharkninja and a week after that I get my return label, send the vacuum back and get a second refund. Who says govt doesn't work. Apparently it does on occasion. Now my bank can figure out what to do next--I did let them know. I'm happy with one refund. Or two. (I was having a hard time getting a refund on a plane ticket one time, until I filed a complaint with the US Dept of Transportation. I've filed a complaint or two with Medicare--that usually gets results. There are actually people at those agencies that seem to like giving companies a hard time on behalf of consumers. After all, the grunts at those agencies have been fucked over by big corporations as often as the rest of us so why wouldn't they be on our side. Nonetheless I'm still surprised when complaining to the govt works.)
Now if only those grunts were hot young women and sent me pictures with their emails.
