AdBlock Plus has been working for me for years.

Same here, but lately it's been outsmarted by the ads. For example if one of those popups that covers the article you want to see says "disable your adblocker" shows up, typically you can hit refresh a couple of times until it says "continue without disabling" as an option.
Now, most sites aren't getting you to that point so I open up the "block an object" option and try and blindly find the part of the screen that is actually that visible popup and usually end up blocking the entire damned thing. You can't undo it either, you have to go back to "allow all ads" to see what you wanted to see in the first place.
Have you tried this on those sites instead of fighting with them? https://archive.ph/
No but I will, thanks!
I'm happy with adblock plus. And I have no problem unblocking for a site I think is worthwhile. These sites have to make money somehow and I want them to stay in business. I donate a little to The Guardian and Wikipedia from time to time when they ask.
What is the reason someone would “stance” a car?

Probably just looks and a different profile. I think it looks like a slow speed cruiser and not much else. If that is your thing I say go for it.
Never underestimate the stupid shit a teenager will do to their car.

& are they buying specially shaped tires?
Nope. Just destroying expensive low profile tires.
The stupidest car mod ever
Where did that skateboard tr go from that girl in trip reports? She flip out and leave?
I'd rather spend an hour with a kid who's passionate about their stanced Civic than a minute with a flat brimmed douchebag who did this to their truck.

I really don’t see the distinction
it was deleted by the OP.
we will never know what a fkn lovebomb is and i'm okay with that.
Aesthetics in modified cars is a really funny thing to me. Very often, it seems like something from the competition world gets pulled into the street world, with the caveat that the functional purpose it served in the competition world doesn't apply, or the vehicle in question is sufficiently different that the mod doesn't make sense.
For example, a big-ass wing on a front-wheel-drive car. Wings make sense in the racing world when you're trying to generate down force, particularly over the drive wheels. FWD on the street doesn't get that benefit; the most you'll do is actually transfer force away from the wheels doing most of the work, but more likely you're not actually going fast enough to make a real difference.
Or low-profile but aggressive tires on a truck. Off-road designs (AT, MT, etc) usually perform best when run at relatively low pressure and the sidewall can deform easily. Rubber-band MTs give up that functionality, yet they're still a thing.
Bobby Stainless said all those car mod guys, from stupidly huge lifted duallys with low profile wheels, to the Fast n Furious prop car crowd, to the GORP mall-crawlers, are just ATMs to him.
All that car mod stuff is personal taste. I occasionally see a slightly stanced car that I think looks good, but take it too far (and on the wrong car like the photo above) and it looks dumb, like 99% of lifted trucks. No one would say that lowriders are a functional modification, but they're still pretty damn cool
