I was under the impression TSA considered the batteries a potential fire hazard? Maybe they’re looking for those crazy fan batteries which I have yet to see used for weed.
I know they aren’t looking for weed

They do, so the policy is to have it on you vs checked luggage. They don't want a fire under the plane.
Carry on or pocket...no problem
I always get a good giggle when they make the announcement at the gate to "make sure your e-cig/vape pen is on your person and not in checked luggage".
Oh don't worry...it's right here next to me, but thanks
They know exactly what people are up to...They don't give a F
I always have my vape (nicotine) box unit in my pocket, and have traveled via plane domestically with no issue. Never seen anything that makes me think they look for drugs domestically, more so bomb stuff, on the topic of transporting carts
Google it...it's right on the TSA website.
They don't actively search for drugs anymore. Dogs are no longer trained to sniff out drugs. It's all about explosives 100%.
I wouldn't recommend traveling with a QP of weed or any powder or pills of any kind, but it's open season to fly with any kind of personal amount of weed. I put carts in my pocket and toiletry case and flower in a smell proof bag right on top of my carry on everywhere I go.
I travel a lot
When I travel to legal states I come home with all sorts of goodies in my carry on
About 3 years ago I hung out outside a hotel at JFK airport smoking cigarettes with a guy from the Isle of Man who is (or was, then), the chief mechanic trainer for United Airlines. He would go to a United facility somewhere in the world and get the mechanical staff fully trained/retrained etc. on procedures and so on, spend weeks or a month or two and then go somewhere else and do it again.
He flew all over the world, and he told me that an aircraft smoke detector can not pick up on vape smoke because they work on particulates and there's basically no particulates with vaping. In fact he said he vapes (nicotine) in plane bathrooms all the time. This guy knew everything about planes there is to know, so I believe him. Do with that info what you will.
You better believe Im hitting my nicotine vape during a 6 hour flight (where my family is).
Yep same here (not edibles though) can't recall the last time I got drunk. Booze hurts way too much.

New California regulations make it a whole lot easier to buy weed. Dispensaries can now send product by mail order anywhere in the state, even if the county, municipality, etc has banned production or sale.

^right on
Nice to hear it’s moving in the right direction for CA residents. Moving in the opposite in WY.
Having been to a number of dispensaries and seeing quite a bit of really shitty product, I can’t grasp the mail order or delivery thing. Is that really a big business in legal states?
Any of you San Diegans want to get baked for science?

As states legalize cannabis, the day-to-day challenges presented by lifting such bans need ironing out. One such problem is how long to wait before driving after lighting up.
It’s a question that researchers at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) aim to answer with a new study. And they’re inviting members of the public to help them find out.
The team are looking for healthy adults who have smoked cannabis in the past. Chosen participants will be asked to smoke cannabis, and then complete driving simulations, according to a statement released by the Center for Medical Cannabis Research at UCSD.
They will also be tasked with completing a performance assessment on an iPad to measure their memory, attention, and motor control, ABC15.com reported.
Researchers will test the blood, saliva and breath of participants before smoking, and hourly after over a seven-hour period. In the randomized clinical trial, some participants will be given cannabis containing low or high levels of THC, respectively.
So far, 180 people have been recruited for the study, which is believed to be the largest of its kind. A further 80 people are needed.
Local delivery is fine in OR, but AFAIK there are no legal mail delivery services. Mail order would be great for those poor souls in Baker City and similar environs in the eastern part of the state.
And I take your point about flower quality, but erl and edibles shouldn't be too much of a risk
ETA - here is a company in CA that promises delivery in under an hour. They don't seem to have much reach at this point though

I got some really good CBD tincture for my dogs and gave them their first dose tonight.
I don't know if it's a coincidence but they are chillin like a villain now

California Scraps $14 Million Budget For Black Market Cannabis Offensive

Legislators dropped the cannabis clean-up measure before any ink could dry
California Governor Jerry Brown met with state legislators early this week to solidify a state budget. At the Sacramento meeting, both parties agreed to a finance plan pushing hundreds of millions of dollars to prevent homelessness and encourage higher education, but declined to allocate $14 million of proposed funding towards statewide enforcement against black market cannabis.
According to the Los Angeles Times, legislators rejected the illicit marijuana interdiction cash, citing funding complications. In a draft of the state budget released by Governor Brown last month, $14 million was set aside to create five teams in the Golden State attorney general’s office specifically tasked with “targeting illegal cannabis activity with an emphasis on complex, large-scale financial and tax evasion investigations.”
