New Season, new member
These forums have been providing me with useful info for a while, so i thought its time i tried to give something back. Based in Innsbruck, Austria, so hopefully i can pass on firsthand info on weather, snow, and anything else people want to know of the region.
Kiwi snowboarder now living in London UK. A bit late to the party - I started 4-5 years ago - making up for lost time! Living off the mainland is a bit of a handicap but I'm still aiming for 4-5 weeks away this season in Euroland. I went on an Avy 101 course last season and really keen to get off the groomers more often if I can find folk to ride with. I've conviced some mates to do a course in Lenzerheide this season so that's a start. I'm generally lurking the Snow For The Euros thread F5'ing like a motherfucker.
is this the place where i welcome myself to this internet site?
been riding for somewhere around 15 years now and only recently got into mtn biking as a way to tolerate the off season.
live in the bay area and ride in the sierra...kirkwood last 5 years but squaw this year for a change of scenery
i am shredding 100% of the time: on the mountain, at my desk job, while using the restroom, im having a hard time thinking of the last time i wasnt actively engaged in shredding
interested in getting the most out of this site:cool:
you definitely wanna stick with the pre carck. that post crack can get seriously wrong.
howdy all!
NYC ski fukinfanatic here! And no, I do not ski in NY. Rather sit home and watch Lifetime with my wife or catch some terminal disease.
the only sport I participate is in is skiing. Started when I was 10 and soon realized this was THE best thing ever. Well, close second to when I met Jenna Jamieson.
Raced for high school for all 4 years. Went to ski camp for 4 years @ Mt.Hood Summer Ski Camps...any other alumni on here from MHSSC?
I do not claim to know shit about "out of bounds" skiing cause I do not.
Dream in life is to ski Europe, Japan and Whistler.
Oh, I have a thing with "Blizzard of Ahhhhs", 80s/90s ski clothing and spending endless money on ski gear-mainly pants & jackets. Oh, MILFS as well.
been lurking this site for a bit. I thought I had obsessive issues with Skiing.
Hello maggots,
I am long time reader for gear talk and such.
I'm a patroller / patrol instructor in the midwest. (South Central Region)
I haul Chicago people off our massive 300' vert in Wisconsin.
You are all lucky that jongs are the minority at your mountains.
We also get lots of powder, the kind you can see yourself in.
I'm just happy I have a place to slide.
I get in 15 ski days in the western mountains each season.
I do side/slack country if the conditions are right.
I have Marker Dukes mounted to Atomic Snoops, skins, avy gear and education.
SF based Tahoe skier here..born and bred on 110 vertical foot ropetow joint outside Chicago..
don't worry though.. no jeans and sports team jackets for me.. i rock 110 underfoot now
let the hazing begin so I can move onto participating!
Came across this site recently. Probably haven't trolled long enough, so I will keep my comments to a minimum to start...
Not-so-vital info: I am a skier. Cut my teeth in the Sierra's, and have been living in CO for the past decade. Past few years have actually been getting regular ski-time in. Live in Vail/BC area since '07, and plan on being here for the duration.
Pray for snow!
Joined last year for all the right reasons. Blew my ACL in October. I am back again now after 26 days this year and ready to rumble! Tele skier from Denver. Ski in the winter fly fish in the summer. Any Questions?
Is it breakfast time yet?
Steve, Todd...BEC TGR style?
Happy New Year Guys.
Can't wait to put into motion all the advice I've been reading up on, especially the stuff involving sandpaper.
Long time lurker/reader, first time poster.
Born and bred on the EC, relocated to Vail for a few years, now back in the East.
Hey kids.
Another lurker ,first post . I ride snowshoe .Great run of snow in WVA the last few weeks. Headed to carnelian bay in about 2 weeks .Hopefully I'm not too late . Only time will tell.
Long time lurker, recently registered, 2nd time poster. Home is Boston's northern 'burbs. Home mountain is Cannon Mtn. College @ UVM, '98-03. Try to get West 1x/year, did Vail/Breck/ABasin last year, Squaw/Kirkwood the year before, no plans yet this season.
i apparently committed a horrendous faux pas by creating my own introduction thread
Nevertheless, hello once again to everyone that didn't hate on me.
oh whats up shralpers. I just found this thread, this site is sweet!b
Bird is the word from the Big Sky Country.
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Seems to be alot of cool people posting. Lots of great information and funny stories and great video and pics. Most of the time sharing the great stoke. I look foward to sharing and laughing with you all. I so called ski bummed in crested butte in the late 90's dishwashing and trying not to get dropped by the sick birds that inhabit the skies there. After CB spent about 6 years in steamboat pretty much landscaping/dishwashing/cooking and enjoying da light pow pow. I then went back to school and landed a job in a hospital at a resort. 4 10's still isn't enough time to ski. i kind of miss the old days, but life moves on and I still feel lucky to have a decent paying job next to a rocky mountain ski resort. well- there it is-
see you on da mountain.
Hey guys...been lurking for about a year. Started BASE jumping in 2006 and moved to SLC in 2008 to jump more and found myself skiing as well as reading the forums.
Work's moved me to Monterey, CA for a bit and I have a few jumping buddies but no ski partners, so hopefully can meet some people on here for turns and beers! Have been going to KW solo and sleeping in my car but that's getting old quick. I still suck horribly on the snow...
No I'm not the chick in my avatar, she's in my spank bank. Fap fap fap.
Been lurking for a couple years and finally got around to posting...only in high school so ill try to post as much stoke as I can but I live in minnesota so will see what i can do...Glad to finally contributing to the mag community
Hi, been skiing a couple of decades, been on here a while, have another name on here, picked this name because I put SG to shame in my gaperness.
I finally registered after years of lurking. Been a Squaw skier for over a decade but still suck. Actually, I am in my mid thirties enjoying my regression in this great sport which is an ongoing process of losing stamina, hucking less than 10 feet, constantly injuring myself and pussing out on lines I used to ski with ease. That's ok though I'm still having fun.
ahoy, been checking out the tech forums for a while and decided to register. I've been snowboarding for 12 years but a shitty season has left me bored so I have decided to spend most of my time on telemarks.
If I had the cash I'd be chasing snow all year round but I don't so I spend my summers fishing.
Lurking for a while, officially on board. I like sliding on snow, hiking, biking, backpacking...
I started out snowboarding, but, after 2 ankle surgeries and 1 shoulder surgery, I've moved on to skiing. Still got a snowboard, though.
I like to flaunt my gaperness by rocking a 20 year old dayglo parka....if you see me around CO, NM, UT, and CA, say "Hi". I may suck at skiing, but, as a doc, I'm really good at picking up bar tabs
Great site - great people
I met a bunch of you at Magic Mountain the last two weekends. I was the guy in the blue jacket and orange head monsters. Thanks for showing me the goods and the woods.
fishing is always fun ivan but there's nothing better than sliding on the snow. will be in utah for month or so and then nh for the annual pilgrimage to tuckermans, meeting up w/ & always up for running into lots of fun people along the way. and yep, that's my 5-year old girl ripping on the board. get outside, be smart and enjoy.

^^^^^^ well its about time you join....she is a ripper and now her daddy needs to get to magic and do alittle ripping of his own....I say next week play hooky and leave the night before, say this sunday night and ride on monday!!!!!
oh shit, I was supposed to read this first? oh well...hai!
Well with all the introductions here, I guess I'll just pile one on for myself. Same story as most others.
Originally from MA, cutting my teeth at MRG, Jay, Stratton, and Stowe, been living in Utah full time for the past 3 years riding PC and LCC after spending my winters out here for the previous seven and somehow managing college.
I've been lurking the boards for a while, reading anything relevant I can find - time to give back by providing some useful stoke and commentary. Not interested in dealing with the flamers and trolls on NS, but the problem with the internet is there are tough talking assbags just about everywhere.
Still it's time for the obligatory minions intro post, JONG time now.
I just set this to my homepage. Is this a bad idea, especially with riding DT's kicking in in FULL effect?
Getting familiar with the overall vibe and contributing wisley (that's STOKE, ladies) will usually earn a JONG a kitchen pass to enter the electron thong.
Or is that throng?
Or nude pics of your girlfriends are always a hit.
Mighty lurksters unite. Progressing tele skier with eyes bigger than my landing gear. I am a small guy who loves big skis and not turning much. I stomp/gape the ground in the Chugach and SW Montana. looking for some beefier boots, because I keep blowing out and repairing my old 2 buckles. :P
Emerging from the lurker fog after a couple years. Been backpacking in the Easterns for years and now looking to up my winter BC credentials there and all places NorCal.
aarrrgghhh... well been a long time lurker, once had a registered name and posted some but forgot all the info to log in again so just made a new one.
what do you want to know...........
I like to ski and I love learning things from tgr so I became a member
I too have been sent into exile for bad and boorish behaviour on other ski forums, you guys seem way cooler....lets see how long it takes.
Great stuff on here BTW, makes me a happy girl
