I would consider some of the half edge type skis instead of the full metal edge, because if you’re gonna be in the track ever, there’s no need to carry around the extra weight of the tip and tail edge. Also, the tip and tail edge actually makes it harder to stay in the track I have had a pair of partial edge skis for over 30 years and I really don’t want the edge for how I use them, (which is basically tromping around the sagebrush).

Well, this season is going bust locally. Our little loppet next weekend is now canceled. Drove by to check the trail access to the local peak to do some sled certifications this weekend, and the snow is gone even from the upper elevations of our XC area. Won’t be using the local mountain for the sled training either - newbs and mixed gravel and ice trails for a couple km’s won’t mix well. These are April conditions in Jan/Feb. Craziest ‘winter’ weather in my 16yrs here.
