You can't fault MSP. If you do, then you don't know how ski movie production works. There are plenty of sponsored skiers who don't make it into a film every year. Its not that they don't have the talent, it's their sponsor(s) not sponsoring them to be in the movie. Totes quid pro quo.

If you watch a movie from 5 years ago, and one from this year, you'd be hard pressed to tell what's what. It's largely because it's the same group of people making the movie with the same group of athletes going to roughly the same places every year with a giant fucking Toyota commercial in the middle.

The effort and logistics of getting Michelle, Abma, Elyse, Cody, Angel, Johnny, Tatum, and Wiley together to film All In two years ago was monumental and a fresh slant. First time ever that the ratio between the sexes was equal in a ski flick. No awards for their efforts.
Getting this group of women together was Ingrid's idea. And the Gaffneys were into it. Took a couple of years to make happen. Too bad she injured her knee and couldn't participate.
Why the hate from Coalition the very next year?
Who the fuck are they anyway?
The gals in last year's flick couldn't commit to MSP this past winter.
And Christina Lustenberger is just getting discovered in the film world.
So who pray tell should they have had in this year's flick that could have held their own with the crew they filmed with?

Two great skiers out having fun and showing their skills and creativity. No better stoke than that.
How many skiers could make stuff like this if they had the resources behind them? How many more people we’ve never heard of could change the sport for better if the definition of success wasn’t just going 110% all the time?
That’s my critique of the industry and especially of MSP. It’s old thinking, and they haven’t cared to address it in any constructive way.

IMO, The Fifty is better than all the films this year.
The movies are a fun thing to see at the theater pre-season and hang with your buds. That's not such a bad thing. For content, though, it's hard to beat what Cody's doing. Plus, 10-15 minutes is about right.
