All is well, though it would be better if it was full blown winter. Been hot this summer but looks like the 90's and even the 80's are a thing of the past. No snow yet, but I expect to see some white peaks soon.
I have lost 50 some odd pounds since the heart attack, my winter coat and bibs no longer fit. Looking to buy all new shit soon. Been looking online and figure to go with some bright damn colors, cuz now I won't be avoiding the camera so much.
Have spent the summer with my grandson Liam Lee. Love that baby, and he loves his grandpa. I needed a new companion, and he fits the bill.

Glad to hear all is going well. Excited to see pics of yours all season long.
Thanks!, Yep, excited myself. The weather took a turn here yesterday. Frikin' back of summer broken, and perhaps some white stuff on some of the peaks this week. Gotta think the Tetons will for sure. I will be looking that way everyday...

Sorry! I have been so incredibly busy lately. Hardly any time to peruse and post stuff on the internet these days. Wife and I have effectively taken on the duties of raising our grandson Liam. Circumstance have arisen that have made us parents of this little one. Not a hardship, we love him like he was one of our own.
Firewood gathering and all fall related chores to accomplish before the white stuff arrives also have taken much of my time the last few weeks. 'Cuz when the snow does arrive, ain't nobody got time for that chore shit.
Did take a Sunday drive yesterday, at the insistence of the wife. One last day of clear fall weather before a new storm system arrives.

Watched the trailer to it.... if it includes snow, snowboards and fat skis that some of you are able to ride, I will like it. A lot. I mean, we got an inch here at the house this evening, thoughts of deep powder turns come to mind. Guessing Targhee would be worth the climb over the next few days. If I had time. I don't right now, foresee a winter of sticking close to home with the kiddo.
Worth it though. Not many chances will I get to raise a child. I hope I can be everything he needs in a father. I am sure going to try. Heck, I needed another run with the young crowd on the hill. We are going to hang for many a year to come. Looking forward to it.

I love this thread! Thank you, sir.
Great photos as usual.
Lucky little guy!
Thanks! This little guy doesn't suffer from a lack of love, and he is and has been such a good tempered human being. Mostly smiles and hugs, even when he doesn't feel good. I see good things in store for his future.
I am not so old as my years might say otherwise. Basically a child at heart. I do remember the feeling of pure enthrallment with the outdoors as an 8 year old growing up near Palisades ID. Grandfather worked for the Bureau of Reclamation there for 25 years. What a great time I had while spending time there, sometimes months at a time while my father was off in some far corner of the world, setting up a business. Holland, Thailand, South Africa. Home was always still here in Idaho though. Grandmother would let us out the door at 8 in the morning, not expecting us back till evening, unless we got hungry. No worries, no deadlines. Just complete wonder of the world around me. The sights. The smells...... just the smell of sagebrush, or decaying willow leaves along the Snake River can bring back long forgotten memories of my wonderful childhood. I want these things for Liam. I am going to see that he gets them.
