Kathleen Kennedy is leaving Lucasfilm\Star Wars by the end of the year.
Once Kathy is gone we will finally get the star warz movie we deserve:

Good riddance to her. Finally.

I mean, yeah, Kennedy was at the helm for the sequels and all the stop- and-start projects that never get made but she was also in charge when they made Mandolorian, Rogue One and Andor. It's not all bad. Who will replace her? Dave Fillni? Jon Faverau? Some uninspiring corporate tool? That's the question.
Dave Filoni is who I’ve heard.
Tony Gilroy would be better...
The rogue on "triogly" could work out to my favourite trilogy if this season holds up to the trailers.

Can't believe how good the first 3 episodes of Andor season 2 were. I'm even more excited for the rest of the season now
The parts with Andor are great, the wedding/poly dealing stuff is shit. Not as good as season one, but still better than anything else, Star Wars.
I will say the opening scene from season two is incredible, looks like they dumped a ton of money into it. Amazing stuff
Been enjoying Andor. Starting the final 3 tonight
Damn, what a great show
This is the way
I hope this is the template moving forward, it really is a great show
I finished 1-3, enjoyed them.
Easily the best star wars TV show, nothing else is close. Mandalorian S1 is second. Everything else is a distant 3rd.
The sexual assault scene added nothing.

Agree about the assault scene, and the length of the wedding scenario, but watching the last 6 episodes, then rogue one, and even a new hope is good. They blended the new story, with the old well, and in a believable way. At a minimum, I felt it made Rogue One better .
Just finished S2 finale, wow that was some of the best TV I’ve ever seen, Star Wars or otherwise. Fantastic and I’m a bit torn that Gilroy won’t be doing any more SW at all apparently, but glad we have this.

How is andor for kids? My 8yo was fine with Ashoka and mandolorian but we didnt let him watch obi wan because of the kidnapping. Violence doesn’t bug him too much but scary stuff does.
S[emoji638] is the most violent Star Wars I can recall. There’s a sexual assault scene. There’s fear, tension, uncertainty of potential violence, and suffering. There’s psychological torture. There’s ruthless murder from both sides not just the bad guys

Beyond what Bodywhomper said, it's just not a show written for younger audiences. It's much darker, there's no real humor, the pacing and action is much slower, especially the 1st season, and the themes and subject matter are more adult? Beyond any violence I would think an 8yo might just get bored with it.

Very good points ^^^

Andor season 2 is absolutely amazing. I even liked the wedding part as you can see mon finally realizing what needs to be done and what it does to her.
The goofy rebels on early yavin are not my cup of tea.
Episodes 8-12 are easily some of the best TV in years.
Why does the molesting scene bother anyone? It's what people in power in authoritarian regimes( or Hollywood a few decades ago) do. Why wouldn't the empire do it?
I mean they literally murdered children in the prequels on screen? And here she fights back and wins. So yay. Go good guys.
Andor made me realize how truly the sequels fucked the whole idea of star wars and made everything meaningless. That's why no Disney series is set in the period of the new Republic.
Since I don't dare to edit yet: I think the assault scene showed exactly why people have to rebel in a system that has abandoned the rule of law and introduced a hierarchy of power.
What I find even more interesting that right wingers watch it and think episode 8 is about Jan 6 and the left are the empire? I mean their cluelessness was shown on may 4th but still those mental gymnastics astound me.
“Jizz was an upbeat, swinging genre of music, most notably performed by Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes and the Max Rebo Band. “

So what do you call this?

To pile on from Bodywhomper and Joey's list of not 8 year old appropriate stuff, S2 had enslavement, executions, suicide on screen and off, and language (mothers clutching pearls). If it were in theaters, I have a really hard time seeing this as only PG-13, probably a soft R. As far as the sexual assault scene bothering people, Mrs. DJSapp stated it quite simply. Because it was accurate. Too accurate. To the point of why Andor is in the running for top 2 star wars series, Andor fills in the 'real everyday evil' of the empire like no other show. Ep. 4 was easy enough to suspend belief and think that a militaristic empire could be so bad they'd blow up a planet so they should be stopped. Andor showed us every little straw that piled up on the camel's back to get us there.

yes to all of this. I get that it bothered people in a that was really uncomfortable to watch way, but it fit perfectly in what they are trying to show about the empire. I do not get how it bothered people in a why was that scene included way.

There has never been indication in SW, that I’m aware of (maybe cannon novels?), where sexual violence was part of the empires means of terror and authoritarianism.
If they really wanted to include sexual violence and add to the internal conflicts and struggles of organizing a rebellion, they should have made a rebel do it.
Yall are entirely missing my jizzing with their hogs joke!

Danno, it pushed the envelope too close to home. Star Wars is still a space fantasy. People are making their connections to Jan 6 and the current admin one way or another, that's a bit obfuscated at least and takes a bit of gymnastics to get there. When that creepy boss from corporate is leaning against your office door making advances and you're powerless to stop it, this scene hits differently. The fantasy illusion is shattered and you realize how plausible this really could be. And people don't like that their escapist space fantasy flew too close to reality AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY.
Goddam Andor is so fucking good. Just finished S2E9. Episodes 8 and 9 were intense.
