The Underoos family float was quite a good time.
Even going up to the Fonts afterwards was fun.

We killed a fish yesterday, accidentally, he ate it to the gills. The boys tried valiantly to resurrect him to no avail.
We thought about posing him on the rocks, but let him go to the Ospreys.

jpcm, she’s nice.
Cool how the tail part is regrowing like an adipose.
I don't think that's a healing wound. Something is wrong with that fish. Look closely at the fins and tail; there's significant discoloration, thinning and fraying occurring on the edges of all the fins. Looks like bacterial fin rot, something more commonly associated with hatcheries and aquaculture than wild fish. But, lots of weird shit is going on in the rivers these days.
JPCM, is that up in Montana?
Coho bite is on in Pugetopolis. ~10lbs. Cut plug herring trolling from the kayak off N. Seattle.

I took a run out to "Big Cutthroat Creek". The fish were picky, but through many fly changes, I found a few that worked, including one of ISBDs olive jig nymphs, which took the first fish of the day.

That, sir, is a hog!
22" fish stuffed into a 19" body. These fast water toads look longer than they really are. Very impressive strength and acrobatics, tho. IMHO, these bows and the ones in whitewater sections of the Hank are the pound for pound hardest fighting fish in east idaho.
That fish looks like he swallowed another fish his own size. Nice catch!
Pig.

Nice smallmouth!
Today was a day I've been waiting for, a day when it had rained over night, and which had good air quality, and which stayed cloudy all day, you know, fishing weather. I lost a big fish, and tail snagged a cutthroat, and landed two healthy rainbows, the second of which broke my fly rod (it broke just above the insert I'd repaired it with the first time I broke it).

I forgot my net so of course it was on like donkey Kong. Wore out an elk hair caddis. Shitty pic from a very popular creek.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...db69d5d59b.jpg

Forgot the net again...missed and lost fish. Then walked back to truck. The old "1 more cast". I only take shitty pics but this bow was a 18" football. Hit a tiny purple haze and was hot! Airborne and peeling line trying to run me through the old railroad bridge pylons. Nice having this crick 5min away.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5a3b844d33.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f90a864ab1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...66bb8cbbce.jpg

Nice fish! I like the looks of that creek as well.
I was about half way to the river, when I realized I had not brought my camera, and I said to God, "OK then, just you and me today." So I went fishing without the camera, with a happy feeling that I'd be blessed, it was inevitable that I'd catch something large........
Lake Roosevelt sturgeon season is open,
now we wait ....
