Very cool. I saw a nice 86ish targa the other day. Id buy 10 if i could.
Just drove the other S5. Much nicer car... had obviously had an easier life. Still didn't buy it. The car is just too oddly impractical. It's not that fast, it's heavy, it doesn't handle especially well, the interior is tiny, and the exterior is huge. The Golf R is like the opposite... Fast (ish), handles great, and so functional. And the APR stage 2 kit will run me a grand and get into actually fast territory.. As in 390bhp/420fp, 0-60 in 3.5s territory. Certainly, the S5 is a better looking car... But I can't see it from the inside.
Anyway... Golf R it is. For a while anyway...

I'm glad the failure occurred walking distance from home. This is the first thing to break for us since we bought it last year (99 model yr). Though there is something funky starting to happen with the electronic door locks.
The thing also got a new (for us) red hat yesterday
