I said this to lightranger tonight, people have kind of viewed Jayson Tatum as a little overrated for so long that I think he's kind of underrated now.

If tgat means the defense doesn't cover him as much and he's open more, then I'm good with that.
Great game. Losing LeBron is going to hurt the Lakers.Almost like old times, except for the distressing lack of assholes on the Celtics.
SGA is also pretty good at basketball

A few days after the fact, but that Dubs Pistons game the other night was great. I really like that young Detroit team, Stewart being a shithead (as per usual) aside.
I agree! The pistons are gonna be a force in the next few seasons. They’ve got a deep roster and their whole team plays hard. Duran may be my favorite big man in the league and absolutely handled the jazz big men in the game a few weeks back. I’m also back on the Cade bandwagon, that dude is a freak and is super smooth to the point that he doesn’t even look to be trying until you look at his stat line and he’s got a triple double

Cade is the real deal for sure. Fun to watch.
Fuck OKC.
This MVP debate is ridiculous. I love SGA but Jokic is basically having Russell Westbrook's triple double MVP season but instead of being a ball-hog chucker and rebound sniper he's being crazy efficient.
For perspective...
Westbrook 2016/17 -- 31.6 PPG / 10.7 RB / 10.4 A. .477 eFG%
Jokic 2024/25 -- 29 PPG / 12.9 RB / 10.4 A. .627 eFG%
This is without a doubt one of the greatest individual seasons in NBA history. I could get into the Nuggets' plus/minus with him on the floor vs. off, but I don't even need to.
And to be fair to SGA, he's no slouch. This is incredible as well...
32.8 PPG / 5.1 RB / 6.2 A. .576 eFG%
A better season than Westbrook's because he often gets to chill in the 4th quarter and his team has the best record in the league (kind of like back in the day when Steph could have had bigger numbers).
SGA is totally amazing and totally deserving of an MVP. That said, Jokic is the best player in the NBA, is playing like it, and is "most valuable" to his team by almost any metric. The only reason he might not win is voter fatigue.
Without Jok any team in the league could reasonably expect to beat the Nuggets on any given night. But with Jokic on the floor, the Nuggets can beat any team in the league and they have. He is, by far, the most valuable player in the league. It's not close. But the voters are considering their legacy when they cast their votes and, for various reasons, many of them are reluctant hand a 4th award to the joker.
Agree on all of it. Can’t go wrong. But jokic does legit everythingQuote:

When the Warriors got off to a hot start it was fun but I also knew it was a mirage since we didn’t have a real #[emoji638] and Steph was doing too much and it wasn’t sustainable. Now with Jimmy I believe we are legit contenders.
For sure. With Draymond (provided he doesn’t get suspended for the year for some shit) and JB, there’s some sandpaper and edge to fight in the playoffs (plus JB playing well is a really good player).
As opposed to the Knicks, as much as I like Brunson- KAT is a dog and will disappear if they even make it to a big game in the playoffs.

Which Jimmy is gonna show up for the playoffs? Buckets or Basketcase?
One who doesn’t have to carry a team on his back. Just having his presence and playmaking has allowed Steph to go off. Draymond is re-energized as well.Quote:

GSW are 14-1 with Buckets in the lineup. I think this trade is working out for the team.
Lucked into some courtside tickets for Friday’s Clippers-Hawks game. I did not realize how many former big names the Clippers had amassed - and to boot they had Van Gundy as an assistant coach, lol. In news that matters, the Cavs had their 16 game win streak snapped which I guess had to happen sooner or later. Might be time to start load managing and tweaking with playoff-focused lineups and plays.
Almost didn’t watch the nugs-dubs game tonight when I saw Jokic and Murray were out. Expected the opposite outcome, but Gordon, Westbrook and Watson came to play!
Dubs needed that win. Now they play the Bucks to try to stay out of a play in spot and Curry looks gassed.
Gordon was a beast. And for all of his faults, Westbrook still can play.
