Someone grabbed one of my CR on chair 1, their Strava didn't include any other chairs.
Baldys insta has some nice pics on its stories
1 and 2, was great until the cold fog rolled in.
Did they say when they expect 3 and 4 to open? Thinking about Thurs or Fri. It looked pretty epic today.

Monday theoretically for 3, but the weather forecast is calling for substantial wind.
Couple more feet in the NOAA forecast over next few days for Baldy.
Also, they are charging $899 for an anual pass
Some epic turns posted from Baldy yesterday. Don’t think I’ve ever seen better pow there
Looking towards some spring targets…
What a monster, if we're lucky it buried the choke and extended the lowest skiable elevation a bit

Sounds like the new owners don't want to actually open to the public but act like it to keep their permit? Once the road is open, we'll see what excuses they come up with.
I grew up skiing Waterman and had some incredible days back in the late 80's/early 90's when the Newcomb family owned it. There is some legit slackcountry terrain when it actually snows. Avy chutes should be all-time after this storm.

Me in LA on Sunday.
Yeah, I love Baldy but I think this is a bit much.
The Ikon gets you Summit and Bear, so if you are a Mammoth weekender you can still get days down here when you don't go to Mammoth. Plus, Summit and Bear are more reliable.
I love Baldy, but I really think this is a bit steep. Even if you are going to ski Baldy a ton and Mammoth occasionally, probably getting Ikon base, this is still quite a bit. And with Baldy you always take the risk that it won't open much next year.
I could see making an offer where people can buy a pass for 700 that covers them the rest of this season AND next season, and maybe allow people who have passes for this year to renew for 500. But these prices are pretty high.
I agree that's too high regardless, surge pricing w/ 2x the time so it feels fair, sort of

Everyone in SoCal is closed today. High winds, high avy danger, and 18, 38, 330 still closed. Have a ticket to Baldy for Saturday, hopefully they can get everything up and running by then.
Honestly, the 899 for the rest of this year, summer and next year doesn't seem as bad as 799 for this year.
If they offered 799 for the rest of this year and next year, without the summer, and a renewal of 599 for next season only that would seem more reasonable.
I'm sure part of this is that they want to get people there in the summer, and to sell summer passes. I'm just not going to go there in the summer, so it's pretty much moot for me.
With this snow I can't imagine them not being able to last until the end of April.
We were going to hit Mammoth this weekend, but with how bad the roads are in town and how good Baldy should be this weekend, assuming they can get the roads open, we're going to stick around and hit Baldy this Saturday, Sunday and possibly tomorrow or Friday for an afternoon. I would love to do an afternoon session tomorrow, but I do wonder about the roads. The Mt. Baldy Fire Dpt. just said they got another foot in town and 2 feet at the resort. The road is closed and might take a bit of time to open.
Well good for them if they can get it I guess, hopefully they can put the extra money into maintenance. And higher price might keep crowds down.
Will be interesting to see what roads get open for Saturday. Should be warm and sunny Th & Fr and the weekend.
I got a lift ticket for tomorrow, but the resort is closed, along with any recreation in the Baldy area due to an avalanche that slid in the road this morning. Winds pick up beginning Saturday.
Big one covered road and another in parking lot from what I can tell after watching:

Two feet from this last storm.
That looked like a big slide from the insta video.
I'm hoping to get up a couple of days this weekend, but we'll see how all of this shakes out.
Be very careful to any of you guys who are touring.
I made request to rebook my ticket for tomorrow. For regular Baldy skiers on the forum, is it like the resort will reply with a confirmation?
abcdethan,
Wish I could help. They are a small operation, so I don't know how efficiently they process rebookings. You might check their Instagram if you haven't already.
Supposedly there was another slide this morning and Mt. Baldy Rd. is closed. I read that on Instagram, but can't confirm. I was going to head up this afternoon, but it looks like I'm not going to be able to do so.
Does anyone have better knowledge of what happened?
