i was there on Sunday, the yellowish snow, seemed like it was treated with ammonium nitrate.
June first seems easy, amirite?

Back East now, and It looks like I'll be at MTW on Monday, anyone else?
^ Superstar cover sure seemed solid today with no signs of any weaknesses, but June 1, well, a lot can change by then...
It's a shame that Superstar will be groomed down the middle. Hopefully it is fully recovered by Sunday...
That shot? Backyard Boof on the West Branch of the Peabody on Monday, which we followed up with a lap of the Upper Ellis in the clouds.

My PFD of the Sawyer was Tuesday. I understand now why so many first borns are named after this river, and I'm very happy that I came out of this run of Cabin slide intact. I'm in the green boat, and the guy in the bottom hole had not made his way out by the time I got there.
well, they screwed up the forecast royally again. can't wait to see some bb photos from MTW, wish i was there.
Going up the autoroad tomorrow. Anyone with beta on conditions? Looks like LG is the only thing in Tucks that is going from the top. Snowfields look pretty good still.
Can't believed I didn't ski S Gully this year or franconia this year. Definitely missed out.
Looking at the hourly obs:
http://w1.weather.gov/obhistory/KMWN.html
... with rain between 5:52 and 9:54, followed by zero vis, the wx wasn't quite as bad as fx, but still pretty close to spot on.
Everything should have gotten at least a mention in my TR, although feel free of course to ask q's if I overlooked anything.
I'll probably be heading up again on Monday, and I'd be happy to take up a passenger or two at 9:00.
(Plus take down that same passenger or two, and this time by 4:44:59!)
Looks like the Note of Shame was well worth the effort!
Great report Jonathan. Nice harvest.
That last pic was taken at eye level - 6 feet!
absolutely glacial
blackfly report from the southern tier: you're gonna die!
Snowz be going fast around here, not looking anything like Mansfield, no wonder the Driven One drives for it.
SBN looking thin

Was out yesterday on a long tour with Surface Whore, ended up on Dana where we ran into this Dude

Riding from the north border to the south in one shot [thumbs up]. We had just slopped down Plum Creek and he said "that's the way I am going". We convinced him to follow us on the dry track back to the Access Rd. Mentioned it was "a little rough on one tight rocky downhill with a long 60 lb. bike". He even got a dose of the "angry sapper" on Bitter Root to complete his Valley visit.
If jonnie foof would stop wasting time jerking shenks' shank and step away from the useless revo and fix 20+ years of Plum neglect I could get some better loops.
Blackflies were out in force but I have been ignoring them so not worried about em.
New Whip is a lot of fun

Unfortunately spent this stellar day doing chores.
No walking required.
^ Keeping your head on a swivel WAS required, though!
Skiing still is good but so is the mtn biking.

Proving my point as I was fifth in line and the FIRST NH plate! I've already contacted my senator with regard to my rule change proposal. Green and ME plates will be exempt. ;)
Conditions were pocky and a lot more firm than I expected to the point that I walked out of my 11 toe din at the bottom of my second lap on Airplane. The more skied, the more buff it became, to the point that you were looking to turn in tracks. Snowfield skied better than Airplane imo and that appears as though it will stick around for a while.
Look forward to a recent report in Airplane as we were postholing near the choke up top. That section seems as though it will melt out quick.
Weather was hot and no wind. Certainly too hot for me with my heat issues...I was sweating gallons. :nonono2:
On a wing.

Killington’s Superstar proudly displaying its signature late-season “S” just like the superhero of late-season skiing that it is:

But our superhero’s kryptonite vulnerability is revealed at the rollover on top of the lower headwall – already broken up, with probably about 100' (linear, not vertical) of walking required by the Friday reopening:

However, fear not, as the snowpack up high is deep and wide thanks to what can only be explained by true superhero powers in defiance of Central VT mid-May weather:
