Must have spent a few hours combing thru this forum to figure out what my next pair of touring skis were going to be. Flipped flopped a few times between the DWT104 and DWT112. Then the Meridian Tour dropped and I was even more confused.
In the end, great people at Moment to give you honest and credible advices. Going with the DWT112 190 since I'll be carrying a heavy pack for a few trips.
Meridian in 193cm, never going to happen?
I'd like to find a replacement for 191 M4 Mantras(full rocker)
I would assume not. Niche ski, that now only gets limited runs. Tooling is really expensive.
I don’t remember where I heard this but I hearing moment uses the same press or tooling for the 187 meridian/193 banana or I could just be remembering wrong.

I have a pair of brand new raw pivots for the meridians. There’s an outside chance I’d put some Duke PT16s on them but I feel like the Dukes are clunky compared to a casted pivot.
I’ll figure out the funky tip and tail thing with regard to skins unless someone has the answer/fix/mod already. Which I am sure they do.
This is what I would do if I were to tour on my stock Meridians. You should be able to find my post with the picture of a Meridian tail and a red triangle drawn on ~10 posts down. Then grab some wide tip clips for the nose end, Pocomas just barely fit over the slanted tip and should work fine with a little extra effort while putting the skins on.

How do Ghost Trains handle thicc snow, like Sierra slop?
I assume they should fine because they are made in Reno, but I'm asking cuz I didn't love the Night Train in thicker stuff. I preferred Bibby/Wildcats and Donner Party (shapes like my current ARG IIs), not in between on the amount of taper, especially in tail. But I also have never skied triple camber so IDK if that helps it??
I feel like I'd prefer the Chipotle Banana for sloppy snow
As the proud owner of Cy’s swiss-cheesed Ghost Trains, I can confirm everything he wrote. They make Teton pass way more funner. They play very nicely with a tiny binding
I can’t comment on the Ghost Trains but my Chipotle Nanners were basically my daily drivers last season in Tahoe. They worked in every condition all the way through the isothermic mank in the spring/summer.
You should get a pair of each, though. Just to be safe.
186 Bananas are almost sold out. I’m almost positive 193 is the better length for me and there are more of those.
I start work again next week, but I really need some of my gear to sell to get into Banana territory $$.
I needa grab 190 WC 118s and 193 CBs by the end of this season. Just got WC108s a few weeks ago.
Hey Moment, thanks for making long radius skis!
Im 5’10”, 220ish all geared up. If someone offered to trade their 193 Nanners for my 186s, I might make the trade but I have never regretted the 186. I spend most of my time at Heavenly and Kirkwood so long boards would be overkill.
I would like to have a pair of 196 wildcats for emergencies and trips to Mammoth.
196 is onsale currently. Don’t sleep on it.

I’d like my three ski western travel quiver for 2025 season to just be
184 Wildcat 116
190 Wildcat 118
196 Wildcat
