Korny goodness on SE aspect from 9000' down at 11:30 AM yesterday. Pretty firm above that. I would post a picture, but they changed the process. I am too much of a jong to figure it out, so here is a shitty video instead.

May get out to Kwood today, hope it softens up a bit.
Tahoe's host of the 1960 Olympics was about as good as Spring skiing gets on Saturday. First chair at Noon found most east faces of KT to be good. North and west faces frozen. Runs off of BA perfect all day. At about 2 or so they opened the north faces off KT but they didn't get real good till closer to 3. Lines at KT got close to 5 minutes for a while.
Temps this morning look similar to Saturday so another late morning arrival should lead to another perfect day.
today will rip. should be even better than yesterday... which was quite sweet.
End of chairlift skiing season for me, was a powderful season.
Time to put the skins on.

Well I'm glad I missed that last run at kookwood.
However, I will say that today was one of the best last bullwheell days I've ever skied. Been a while since I rode lifts all day at the wood, and the skiing was great til the end. Really good chalky wind buff off the top of the wall ridge and pretty much cornicopia every where else. I've never seen a ski resort close for the season with so much snow, and I've never seen a ski resort stop the lifts just as the skiing was getting to be perfecto. It was just getting ripe everywhere at 4:00....what a year. This spring the hiking will last long and deliver the goods deep into the summer. Go git it mags.

Any update on the condition of the guy who straight lined the wall, arms flapping, and rag dolled down the waterfall gully at KW yesterday? That was the most spectacular carnage I've seen in a while, guys lucky to be alive.
Shenanigans were at a minimum for Sugarbowl's closing day. There was a crew lapping The Palisades and straightlining some serious chutes, but that's about it.
I arrived in the Judah lot around 10:45 and while suiting up realized I'd left my helmet back at the cabin. 30 minutes later I was back at SB with a parking spot further away from the snow and suiting up. I was hillside and skiing around 11:30 and basically made a b-line for Strawberry Fields. Spent the rest of the day lapping the lower part and around 1 p.m. hiked up to Crow's Nest for lunch and some fresh tracks. Ended out the day lapping Crow's Nest a couple more times before putting in my final runs on Blitzen (the Christmas Tree lift allowed for a great vantage point of the folks ripping The 'Sades). Ran into Kona on one of my final laps off of Jerome, too.
Overall the snow was pretty decent, if a bit crispy before noon, but it softened up and held nicely in the late afternoon.

Sherwood was tits yesterday. Rather than brave a not-yet-defrosted Hi T, my daughter and I traversed Kinsey's Cut to the top of Sherwood and found perfect corn the whole way down. Connected with UCL and OHC at various points and enjoyed repeated speed runs in the corn before heading back to finish packing up the house. A very nice way to end the lease.
The Funnel at 3 o'clock yesterday was some of the best corn I've ever skied.
And my first corn day of the season.

hah!!! saw that runaway snowboard from 10 as it was arcing perfect gully turns all the way down. kwood management finally did something to shine their tarnished local image so props to them for hooking it up yesterday.
