Went up in mid June, from Emigrant Pass closure gate. Looking down from the peak, I didn't even see a snow bank. Ranger at Manzanita said the road was still 20 feet down. If spring stays cold again, maybe it'll be 30 feet down same time this year ;)Quote:

The only time I would miss Granite in spring is during a decent storm. I was there a few years ago, on a May weekend, and Granite was going off, with fresh windblown. The bottom was basically rain. Sometimes those higher elevations work. But I know what you mean by poor corn - too many variable slope directions & trees. Although, the peak would often be a nice hike.
