Probably, I can hear the black helicopters already.

My new Weatherby needed a sling, as this is a hunting rifle I wanted a no-BS basic sling that made it easy to carry and easy to use shooting.
This checked my boxes: http://blackhawk.com/products/long-g...-stretch-sling
Highly recommended.

I've reverted to Scheels rubber slings on my hunting rifle. Everything else ends up sliding around when you're hiking for hours on end.

I'm really digging the p10c. Maybe I need to get one for myself...
Any chance you can make a holster like that for a CZ 85 B? Found an old surplus last week and fucking love it! Perfect trigger. Taking it to a.smith today for a complete break down, detail strip, re-crown barrel, sights, and maybe cerakoty.

That's a great setup for a 10/22. Too bad that configuration is considered an "assault rifle" where I live.
Spend some time with a green scotchbrite pad on the inside of the receiver to clean up the shitty casting (the black finished receivers are even worse as you have to clean off the overspray) and allow the bolt to cycle more smoothly. Smoothing out the guide rod will also help it cycle better.

STG58 coming to my .308 quiver, needs a few items to be correct and those are on order.
Steyr kit build on an Imbel receiver with original barrel.
Anybody ever hunted or hand loaded with Swift Sciorrocos? Got some at a trade show in 180g (300wm) and thinking they'd make a great elk round.
Hunted a few seasons with the 150grn .284 hand rolled for a 7RUM. Killed 2 Elk and a couple deer. Performed as advertised and grouped well. Moved on to the Berger VLD 168 though. Excellent bullet in my opinion. Work up a load and see how it groups. They will kill animals.
Thinking of treating myself to a new rifle, going stainless, more accurate and lighter then my current Remington autoloader. Working out the budget now.
What's a good scope for general hunting that won't break the bank? Most shots are within 50 yds, usually sight in dead on @ 100yds. Currently running a 30 year old bushnell 3-9x that seems to work, wish it had BDC for some of the longer shots/playing around at the range.
First time I shot a cloverleaf was with a T3 in 7mm-08, we were just having some fun and not really setup for serious shooting, I was sitting in the gravel with the forend rested on the arm of a folding camp chair. Could not believe 3 shots went into a ragged hole until we walked out to the target.
That really sold me on the gun, but can't get past how the synthetic stocks look. The new T3x look better in pictures, still liking the laminated though, and at 6.5lbs still lighter then the current rifle.
Depending on budget, the Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 with the dead hold reticle is a great scope and perfect for what you are wanting to do and is very reasonably priced.

Shot IDPA for the first time in too many months. So freaking fun. Safest place in Clear Creek County for a few hours on a Saturday.
There are some accurate and fast shooters in this hood.
I've never been able to get too worked up about 'light' rifles.
My suggestion:

Leupold or Vortex 3-9 on top and you're good to go out further (hopefully) than you'd be willing to take the shot. Use 130gr rounds and zero the 270 at 26 yards and you're in the kill zone from the muzzle all the way out past 300yds. That setup, should IMO, be the standard east coast deer zapper.
You can carry a cheat sheet of ballistic data for what ever caliber you are shooting, its not a calibrated BDC but will serve you well. Some folks will tape it to the stock of the rifle.
Leupold and Vortex scopes are worth the money although I have had good luck so far with Nikon lately.
Another Tikka fan here. 7 mag Stainless Lite, with a recoil lug from Montana Tactical and a Vortex Viper PST 6-24. Sub MOA, sub 9 lbs, and sub $1,500. Tough to go wrong. You could easily scope down from a 6-24 PST to a 3-9 or 2.5-10 range scope for what you're looking to do. I've had good luck with Vortex so maybe check out the HS and HST scope in lower mags to save weight and cost. Leupold, Nikon, Sig all make nice optics too at all ranges of price point.
