I guess I’m guilty of wanting to see some skiing....at this point the NS argument doesn’t work because it’s the same argument the FWT judges are discussing.

This next comp should be interesting as the format has it designed to trick away till your broken.....
Your best run counts of 2....
If they counted both runs it wouldn’t push the trix as much....
Hopefully this format doesn’t increase injuries and demote safety to achieve the “WoW” the tour wants...
Rode up w a couple touron qualifiers from dee-range-oh yesterday and my only significant takeaway was that they come from a gov funded U in Colorado and drive all around the west in a 2WD van with precious cargo, hoping and praying that their van makes it to their destination.
The whole slope from top to bottom was 38 degrees and that 5' windlip was in a mellow spot, crosscourt. It was slopestyle. And the worst kind of fast-spinny slopestyle.
Put it this way. If you're going to do a double back or a 720 it doesn't have to be twice as far but it should be significantly further to advance the 'fluidity' and 'air and style' scores. I'm not against tricks. I just think fast spins for the sake of more rotations look awkward and take the sport in the wrong direction.
I believe the nendaz 4* is streaming in 5 minutes. The 4* events can be more entertaining than the tour if the venue is good, and it looks pretty solid from the screenshot

Thanks for that. I’m a big fan of the Nendaz event. Stoked for my Saturday night!

Alright, Hitzig is dope. His K2s are dope.
Nendaz is always a comp that separates athletes.

Great venue and great riding. Thanks for the link
watched some mens runs yesterday- Fun Stuff;) that triple was sick!
amazing how many riders ate it on the last cliff/no injuries from what I saw so far.XD...a little reminder these guys make the sport look way easier than it is in reality
that venue would be off the hook with a huge base of snow coverage
actually it's much less interesting with a deep base. the winning run from 2018

The latest announcements make no sense to me. Fiebebrunn is after the cut off and part of the "Finals" how can you throw in a wildcard who has not competed yet this year? What happens if the finish anywhere but last and take points away from anyone that earned their spot and cause them to miss out on a final podium?
Not the first time they’ve done this. I mean, whatever. Please just tell me it’s Markus Eder again?
It is not. Hank Bilious' younger brother Finn on the ski side. He was in slope and big air in the Olympics which should really impress the TGR crowd. On the Snowboard side it's a fairly local pro, I don't follow that side enough to comment (even here).
OMG Who Farted?! Did you just say "Olympics" and "slopestyle" in the FREERIDE World Tour thread?!? Get a rope.
otoh, he is a Bilous, so... I bet he wins the comp with Reine straightlines into a double cork thrown in for funz.
Psyched for a return to some FWT events! Cuz all we got here in the desert mountains of California is endless sun and a rapidly diminishing snowpack.
4* Final from Slovakia. No riders yet but looks like a strong venue

interesting in the snowboard results anna orlova is listed with no flag and no country
The Jasna is on live now. Lots of talent on sight.
But my lord do the announcers suck. Stop talking about yourselves!!
And get off your goddamn phones.
Homie is front and center announcer of this event and there’s two minutes of silence while he’s texting.
I hope I never see those three announce again. Worst I’ve seen in 20 years.

“We are waiting for a score.”
So talk about the athletes. Mention that Hitzig just threw down at the Nendaz. Mention all of them.
/sorry for the rant. I would love to commentate these events. Talk about a dream job. And all three of these announcers obviously don’t give a shit.

One more time to the middle announcer— get off your fucking phone. Even your partner to your right is staring you down, begging for a conversation.
They have got to be stoned. Dude in yellow spoke twice… about himself.
Sorry to be so livid. But I’ve always wanted this genre of live/online ski comps to gain traction.
These three can please never come back.

Remember to put your Fun Bet predictions in. No excuses when I take this thing wire to wire. :fmicon:
Damn the crash at 4:41:00 was gnarly.
I’m with Gajin on this one.
Venue looked fun, cameras and production was on point. Skiers were sending it.
The announcing was insanely bad. I’ll cut them a bit of slack for announcing in their second language, but that was hard to listen too. After about 3 skiers I muted the commentary and put some music on.
Got a kick out of someone rocking a piss at 3:51:09 behind Pavel Bozak waiting for his score.
You see how that chain of events went?
We went from bitching about shitty announcers to other, cool, non-paid wanna-be rad announcers, to “I don’t care if they’re drunk.” to finding the moment of a guy peeing.
Jesus fucking Christ.
Life is good. (Sounds better than all in the world is right. )

LMAO
After watching it all, the announcers were not bad- they just had zero experience doing play by play during the runs.
...One bad moment though, cheering a tomahawk before she came to a stop and waved the O K signal.
WHATEVER
...the SKIING was super fun to watch! Such a challenging face to run on, and riders totally charged for a try at a good score.
Couldn't help myself; it put a ribbon so nicely on the shit in a box commentary.
At least the skiing is incredible. I love watching the first attempt full send on a face they just sized up and scaled. Massive blind sends, variable snow, some skied out of ridiculous crashes... It's super entertaining, just obviously lacking in one area that's easy to shit on - they could arguably remove the commentary altogether if it's gonna be that bar banter quality, or at least build something into the wait-for-score minutes, like damn.
Can't shit on the skiing, have to shit on something I guess, no toilet in my sleeper sedan.
Max Hitzig got obviously a wildcard for Fieberbrunn. Dude is on fire, deserves it.

Pollard makes some interesting observations about the 2 run format and how Fibberbrunn might not be the best venue for it.

Having said that,I am pumped for Monday’s comp. anyone know what up with Weazy?

On the website it's listed as Ski Women, Ski men, Snowboard men, Snowboard Women but it doesn't say how the second runs will go. It can't just be reverse order since the snowboard women can't be at the bottom and the top at the same time.
edit-nvmnd. first thing they said was same category order but riders will be reordered within categories
edit edit, pumped about Craig Murray in the middle of the booth
jess hotter is so fucking impressive. that middle sction was throwing up zero spray
seems like there's gonna be lots of flat light holds. hope they can get it all in
Don't mind me when I rant, boys. I'm all in jest/sarcasm/banter just screaming into the void.
Regardless, Hitzig is a beast. My lord that dude has dropped onto the radar in no time. What do we call a Rookie to being a Rookie? Rookie Squared?
Moga.... crickie. Homie runs uphill to get his ski after that rag doll. Another beast.
"Jessica Hotter just kart-wheeled down the face and is still currently sitting in first place."
Ha... quote of the event so far.
